Sobre este puesto de Vice President of Technology en WorldVia

WorldVia · Remoto · Roswell, Georgia, United States

The Vice President of Technology leads WorldVia's technology organization including software engineering, travel technology, IT and network infrastructure, information security, and AI workflow automation. Reporting to the CEO, this role turns WorldVia's technology direction and product roadmap into working systems, and owns how the technology team is built, how work is delivered, and how systems run day to day. The VP manages the software engineering team directly while building out the organization and is accountable for the systems that independent travel advisors and WorldVia staff rely on, including WorldVia's One platform, worldvia.com, advisor booking tools, travel-system integrations, and various third-party systems.

Requirements

Technology Leadership

  • Lead the technology organization, including software engineering, travel technology, IT infrastructure, information security, project delivery, and AI workflow automation.
  • Plan the technology organization's growth, including organizational structure, leadership needs, and hiring strategy across engineering, infrastructure, and technology operations.
  • Build and report on a technology scorecard covering delivery performance, system reliability, security, and cost management.
  • Develop and maintain a technology strategy that aligns technology investments with company growth objectives, operational scalability, and revenue goals.

Software Engineering & Product Delivery

  • Manage the software engineering team directly - setting priorities, reviewing architecture and code, and holding the team accountable for delivery commitments - until additional engineering leadership is added.
  • Partner with the CEO and Product Management to translate the product roadmap into delivery plans, estimates, release schedules, and measurable outcomes.
  • Own technical architecture and key technology decisions, including platform strategy and build-versus-buy evaluations for advisor-facing tools, WorldVia.com, and internal systems.

AI Strategy

  • Lead WorldVia's adoption of AI across the company, advancing an AI-native development lifecycle in which AI agents support planning, coding, testing, code review, and deployment under engineer oversight.
  • Partner with department leaders to redesign workflows using AI, measuring improvements in efficiency, cost, quality, and scalability.
  • Oversee the company's AI workflow and automation program, identifying opportunities for process automation and driving implementation, adoption, and results tracking across departments.

Travel Technology Systems

  • Oversee travel technology platforms and integrations, including GDS systems, supplier connections, booking tools, advisor technology, and mid-office systems.
  • Ensure technology platforms effectively support advisor and employee experiences while enabling business growth and operational efficiency.

Infrastructure & Security

  • Own IT operations, network infrastructure, Microsoft 365 administration, access management, and overall technology operations.
  • Lead the company's information security program, including policies, risk management, incident response, vendor security reviews, and security best practices.
  • Ensure systems are reliable, scalable, secure, and aligned with business continuity objectives.

Business Management

  • Manage the technology budget, vendor relationships, contracts, and technology investments.
  • Evaluate and prioritize technology spending to maximize business value, operational effectiveness, and long-term scalability.

*This is a remote position. Must be able to travel up to 20%. Travel may include attendance at company meetings, team collaboration, training, conferences, industry events, and other business-related activities.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years in software engineering or technology leadership.
  • 5+ years leading teams of 10 or more people with managers among your direct reports.
  • Experience leading technology at a company of roughly 50 to 500 employees, covering both product engineering and IT/infrastructure.
  • A record of hiring and developing engineers and technical managers and growing a team while keeping delivery on schedule.
  • Experience managing technology budgets, vendor portfolios, and investment prioritization decisions.
  • Hands-on experience running an engineering team on an agentic development lifecycle (AI coding agents used across planning, coding, review, and testing, with human review and approval steps), and leading AI-driven workflow redesign in business operations with measured results.
  • Experience putting AI or automation tools into use in business operations.
  • Hands-on technical depth: able to review architecture and code, judge engineering tradeoffs, and step into delivery when needed.
  • Experience building and running B2B platforms that depend on many third-party integrations. Marketplace or membership-based software experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of information security and data protection practices.
  • Proven success partnering with executive teams and influencing company strategy through technology planning and execution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical leaders, staff, and partners.

Preferred

  • Travel-industry technology experience is strongly preferred, such as GDS systems (Sabre, Travelport, etc.), supplier APIs, booking engines, or host agency or OTA platforms.
