Description of Work
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
- Repairing, maintaining, replacing, and rebuilding mechanical and electrical automobile components in accordance with established automotive repair and maintenance practices.
- Performing minor and major engine repair or replacement, differential repairs, repairing of electrical components, air conditioning systems, steering and brake systems, as well as automotive computer diagnostics and repair.
- Performing other mechanical tasks such as changing oil, replacing tires, changing and/or replacing batteries as well as engine tune-ups.
- Documenting repairs to vehicles and cleaning work areas as well as performing other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Education and Experience

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two (2) years of experience in the area of assignment, or a sufficient year-for- year combination of education and experience in the repair work to which assigned; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Necessary Special Qualifications May require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by 40 CFR part 82, subpart F.
