The Role
We are looking for a UX/UI Designer specializing in game UI localization to help adapt Nex games for players across multiple languages and regions.
This role focuses on making existing interfaces localization-ready and implementing localized content without compromising clarity, usability, visual quality, or performance. You will work across Figma and Unity to identify localization risks, adapt layouts and components for translated content, implement approved translations, and verify the final experience in game builds.
You will collaborate closely with UI/UX designers, engineers, technical artists, producers, QA, Content Operations, and localization partners. This is a hands-on production role for a designer who is comfortable owning localization work from design audit through implementation and visual QA.
What You'll Do
- Audit UI for Localization Readiness: Review game screens, flows, and components to identify hardcoded text, embedded text in images, fixed-size containers, truncation risks, unsupported characters, and other localization blockers.
- Adapt Layouts for Translated Content: Update Figma layouts and UI components to support text expansion, wrapping, dynamic sizing, different line heights, and script-specific typography while preserving hierarchy and readability.
- Maintain Visual Quality Across Locales: Adjust spacing, alignment, typography, icon placement, and responsive behavior for each target language without changing the approved meaning of translations.
- Prepare Localization-Ready Assets: Separate text from artwork, create language-neutral assets, and produce localized visual variants only when text or culturally specific content must be embedded.
- Improve Localization Standards: Contribute reusable components, checklists, templates, and design-system guidance that make future game localization faster and more reliable.
What We're Looking For
- Relevant Experience: Professional UI design or game UI production experience, with hands-on involvement in localization, internationalization, or multilingual product delivery.
- Strong UI Craft: A portfolio demonstrating polished interface layouts, typography, visual hierarchy, reusable components, and production-ready asset creation.
- Localization-Aware Design: Practical understanding of text expansion, dynamic layouts, wrapping and truncation rules, font fallback, CJK typography, locale-specific formatting, and culturally sensitive visuals.
- Figma Proficiency: Advanced experience with Auto Layout, components, variants, constraints, design systems, and efficient production workflows.
- Quality Mindset: Strong attention to detail and the ability to systematically find, document, and verify visual defects across multiple languages and screen states.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Ability to communicate clearly with designers, engineers, QA, producers, and localization partners, especially when balancing visual quality, technical constraints, and deadlines.
