About the role 
 

We’re seeking a Treasurer - Funding to provide leadership in the planning, management, execution, monitoring, and stakeholder management of Transurban’s financing activities.

Reporting to the General Manager Treasury & Insurance, you will step into a pivotal leadership role within our high-performing Treasury team. Transurban operates one of the most dynamic and sophisticated corporate debt portfolios in the region, spanning multiple jurisdictions, capital markets, maturities, and currencies. You’ll join an innovative team, who are responsible for managing Transurban's complex financing structure across a broad range of projects and jurisdictions.

As our Treasurer – Funding, you will shape our long-term capital strategy, oversee landmark debt and equity transactions, and partner closely with executive leaders, joint venture boards, and global financial institutions. You’ll contribute directly to lasting, positive changes that ensure the financial resilience and growth of our business, creating a genuine impact on the future of our cities. Day-to-day, you will: 

• Drive Capital & Funding Strategy: Assist in developing and executing the Group’s Capital Strategy, orchestrating comprehensive debt and equity funding plans aligned with credit metrics and board-approved Treasury policies.
• Execute Strategic Transactions: Conduct the planning, structuring, and execution of select debt facilities, capital market issuances, and equity capital raisings across domestic and international markets.
• Support Development Projects: Partner on major project development initiatives to evaluate funding structures, ensure financing alignment, and proactively mitigate impacts on credit metrics and ratings.
• Maintain Rating Agency Engagement: Deepen rating agency relationships and methodologies, ensuring corporate and asset financial models accurately reflect agency criteria.
• Partner Across Stakeholders: Act as a trusted adviser to Group Executives, Deputy CFO, CFO, joint venture directors, rating agencies, banks, and institutional debt investors.
• Lead & Inspire: Foster an inclusive, high-performance team culture—coaching, mentoring, and setting clear strategic priorities in line with Transurban’s Leadership Capabilities.

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including: 

• Extensive background in corporate treasury, investment banking, debt capital markets, or structured corporate finance.
• Deep understanding of global debt and equity capital markets, loan syndications, and private placements.
• Strong financial modelling capabilities and sharp analytical acumen with the ability to solve complex commercial problems.
• Proven stakeholder management and executive presence, with experience drafting and presenting papers at the Board and Executive Committee level.
• Demonstrated leadership capability, with a passion for coaching and developing diverse talent.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Economics, Commerce, or related fields (CA/CPA, CFA, or Master’s qualifications highly regarded).
