Training & Competency Coordinator

What you'll do

As a Training Coordinator in our Industry Skills team based in Adelaide, you'll play a critical role supporting a nationally significant program operating within a highly regulated environment. This is not an administrative role. We're looking for a specialist who understands training systems, competency assurance and the importance of maintaining accurate, traceable and audit-ready training records. You'll work closely with technical specialists, project leaders and external providers to ensure training and competency requirements are effectively coordinated, governed and evidenced. In this role, you will:

• Coordinate training, competency development, continuous professional development and on-the-job learning activities.
• Develop and maintain training and competency matrices aligned to workforce capability requirements.
• Coordinate training delivery with subject matter experts and external training providers.
• Maintain accurate, traceable and audit-ready training and competency records.
• Manage training documentation, version control and evidence requirements.
• Produce reports on training completion, competency gaps and workforce readiness.
• Support internal and external audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across training and competency systems.

What you'll bring

• Experience coordinating or supporting training, competency, learning or workforce capability programs.
• A strong understanding of vocational education and training principles, competency-based training and assessment, or RTO-style quality systems.
• Experience maintaining training records, competency matrices, learning management systems or workforce capability frameworks.
• A solid understanding of traceability, document control and audit-ready record management.
• Strong organisational, stakeholder engagement and written communication skills.
• A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or demonstrated equivalent experience will be highly regarded.
• Experience within defence, aviation, rail, energy, infrastructure or other highly regulated environments will be advantageous.

• Full-time position based in Adelaide.
• Project office-based working environment.
• Australian Citizenship is required, and applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance due to project requirements.
