As a Testing Lab Technical Expert, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, accuracy and compliance of laboratory testing activities. The role involves overseeing test methods, equipment, calibration, documentation and laboratory operations, while supporting staff development, safety and continuous improvement. The role is based in Xanthi, Neo Olvio.

Key activities and responsibilities of the role include:

• Ensure the reliability and verification of the test methods used in the laboratory.
• Provide technical and scientific interpretation of applicable standard methods.
• Ensure the availability of appropriate laboratory facilities and environmental conditions to support the reliability and validity of testing.
• Ensure the adequacy, accuracy and proper maintenance of test records and documentation.
• Decide on the suspension or discontinuation of testing activities, in collaboration with the Laboratory Manager.
• Participate in inter-laboratory comparisons in collaboration with the Laboratory Manager.
• Plan and execute the laboratory testing program and monitor the progress of laboratory activities.
• Define Job Descriptions in collaboration with the Laboratory Manager.
• Provide training and guidance to laboratory staff in the execution of their responsibilities.
• Monitor, control and evaluate staff performance in collaboration with the Laboratory Manager.
• Support the selection, procurement and renewal of laboratory equipment in collaboration with the Laboratory Manager.
• Define technically and economically appropriate equipment calibration methods and frequencies.
• Ensure the proper maintenance of laboratory equipment and facilities.
• Implement corrective actions and support changes to the Quality System and laboratory methods in collaboration with the Laboratory Manager.
• Identify and recommend improvements to enhance the reliability, efficiency and effectiveness of laboratory operations.
• Supervise the proper application of test methods and the correct use, handling and maintenance of laboratory equipment and reference standards.
• Develop and supervise the implementation of laboratory safety rules and instructions in collaboration with the Laboratory Manager.

Requirements

• BSc and/or MSc in Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in a laboratory, testing, or related technical environment.
• Very good knowledge of test methods relevant to the laboratory’s scope of activities.
• Good understanding of laboratory equipment, testing procedures, calibration and quality requirements.
• Good knowledge of relevant software applications and MS Office.
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to provide training, guidance and support to laboratory staff.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
• Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in English and Greek, both written and verbal.
