The Technology Project Manager owns the delivery of business outcomes across the Commercial Lines portfolio. This role translates strategy, intake, and business cases into realistic delivery plans and leads work through build, testing, release, and follow-on stabilization.

You will coordinate across multiple Agile teams, shared technology platforms, business stakeholders, and vendors while managing scope, schedule, cost, risks, dependencies, and change. As a trusted advisor to business partners, you will explain options, trade-offs, and impacts; hold vendors and integrators accountable to their commitments; and ensure delivery is predictable, high quality, and aligned to expected value. 

 

This is an AI-forward role with an expectation to use automation, analytics, and emerging AI capabilities to improve delivery speed, quality, transparency, and stakeholder outcomes. You will establish and monitor delivery and value-realization metrics, apply strong financial discipline, and identify process improvements that improve delivery speed, quality, predictability, and stakeholder outcomes.

The role primarily supports partners and teams across the Eastern and Central time zones.

Work Arrangement: This role follows a hybrid schedule and requires in-office presence in Columbus, OH or Des Moines, IA, two days per week.

Exceptional candidates outside these markets may be considered for a remote work arrangement.

Work Authorization: This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the STEM OPT Extension program.

Expected salary range for this role $118,000 - $150,000

As a Delivery Leader you’ll be responsible for delivering value and outcomes. Delivery leaders are expected to have an end-to-end vantage point on delivery, manage dependencies, remove blockers, engage partners, manage financials, maximize vendor relationships, and enable an iterative delivery of value. You will need to keep pace with software delivery and organizational change methods and tools. Delivery leaders should also understand relevant Financial and Agile/Lean/DevOps tools and techniques.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities: 

• Drives the End to End delivery of expected business outcomes, realization of benefits as outlined in the business case, drives incremental value, drives incremental planning, and drives dependency scope definition.

• Responsible for applying secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.

• Responsible for the communication, critical issues, visibility, change management guidance to deliver business outcomes.

• Key contributor in the facilitation of contract negotiations, statement of work development and vendor oversight toward expected goals.

• Drives the prioritization of deliverables, handles moderate to complex issues/risks, governs dependencies.

• Is responsible for the delivery of status/health reports to drive value delivery tracking (ex: KPIs), optimizes the flow of value and ensures demand/capacity is handled.

• Works with medium to large project/product financials.

• Serves as a professional to others around delivering business outcomes, benefit realization, agile delivery, and Lean.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Delivery Leader or Business Solution Area Executive.

Typical Skills and Experiences: 

Education: Undergraduate studies (bachelor’s degree preferred) in management information systems, engineering, math, computer science, data analytics or comparable experience and education strongly preferred. 

License/Certification/Designation: Technology certifications or PMI, SAFE, Agile or Lean designations are encouraged.

Experience: Six or more years of experience in technology or related field. Three years demonstrated proficiency in delivering outcomes/projects. Awareness of emerging technologies and/or industry trends.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Ability to make decisions and recommendations. Aptitude to influence, establish relationships and set priorities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with all levels of associates, senior management and/or vendors. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus. 

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
