Our Ecommerce team is at the heart of this transformation. Responsible for the Nuffield Health website and App and for the digitisation of all key customer and patient transactions, it is fundamental to our ambitions to put digital front and centre of the charity’s ambition to build a healthier nation.

We’re looking for an experienced Technology Delivery Manager who thrives in fast-paced digital environments, enjoys solving complex problems, brings structure to ambiguity and can help teams deliver high-quality customer experiences predictably and at pace.

This is a 12-month maternity cover role that will lead delivery of all initiatives within the ecommerce team. Initiatives within the team are typically delivered within an Agile framework so experience of Scrum/Kanban is key – but flexibility is important and a passion for delivering complex IT projects within a digital / healthcare environment is another must-have attribute.

As our Technology Delivery Manager, you’ll: 

• Lead delivery across the Ecommerce squad, focusing the team on clear, achievable and cost-effective outcomes. 
• Ensure delivery activities are aligned to agreed business outcomes, customer value and strategic objectives, balancing speed, quality and risk.
• Lead squad capacity and demand planning activities, ensuring a clear understanding of team availability, upcoming demand, delivery forecasts and constraints to support effective prioritisation and predictable delivery.
• Use delivery metrics and planning data to improve forecasting accuracy, identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvements in squad performance.
• Create delivery plans, milestones, dependencies, resource requirements and critical paths across concurrent initiatives. 
• Support squad and unit level planning practices such as Refinement, Sprint Planning and Big Room Planning by bringing together priorities, dependencies, capacity and delivery confidence across teams. 
• Manage risks, issues, decisions and cross-squad or supplier dependencies, escalating constraints early and clearly. 
• Provide transparent reporting on progress, priorities, risks, capacity and delivery confidence to senior stakeholders. 
• Use delivery data and agile metrics such as velocity, lead time, cycle time, throughput and delivery predictability to support planning and continuous improvement.
• Work with Architecture, Cyber Security, Service Management and operations to ensure solutions are secure, supportable and ready for service. 
• Support change control, implementation planning, testing, deployment, operational readiness and handover. 
• Build trusted relationships across Technology and the wider organisation, constructively challenging unclear or unrealistic demand. 

To succeed as a Technology Delivery Manager, you’ll bring: 

• Demonstrable experience leading delivery of customer-facing websites, mobile applications, ecommerce platforms or digital product transformations. Experience delivering iterative, customer-informed change in a fast-paced organisation. 
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives with competing priorities, shared resources and complex dependencies. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, able to simplify complex challenges, identify root causes and drive pragmatic, outcome-focused solutions.
• Working knowledge of Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery approaches and tools such as Jira and Microsoft Planner. 
• Strong risk, issue, dependency and stakeholder management, with the confidence to escalate and recommend realistic options. 
• Excellent communication skills, able to articulate plans, progress, risks and decisions clearly. 
• Experience managing budgets, financial tracking, suppliers and technology partners. 
• Experience coordinating and governing delivery across multiple internal teams, third-party suppliers and technology partners.
• The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery leadership. 
• The desire to foster a culture of accountability, transparency and continuous improvement within the squad.
