This role is part of Alcon's Manufacturing function, a team that designs, produces and delivers innovative eyecare products to more than 140 countries through operational excellence and efficiency.The Technician II, Chemical Production Operations (Science/Tech/Engineering Path), is primarily responsible for handling technical tasks in pharmaceutical or contact lens production, including working with saline solutions, mixing compounds, maintaining equipment, and adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards. Specifics Include: • Handle technical tasks to support operations and enhance efficiency within defined procedures • Work with saline solutions and mix compound ingredients for various formulations • Perform maintenance on equipment like pumps, homogenizers, filter presses, and tablet compression machines • Follow standard operating procedures to meet GMP standards and maintain accurate records • Ensure compliance with Good Practice (GXP) requirements by inspecting products, addressing deviations promptly, and maintaining documentation • Stay current with field advances and apply agile problem-solving by testing, iterating, and refining solutions • Participate in team projects to develop process improvement methods, solutions, and procedures • Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures • Make minor decisions within task scope, requiring enhanced technical skills and problem-solving abilities • Commit to continuous improvement and regulatory compliance in operationsAll associates must adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training.
