The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking for a Forensic Exploitation Lab Technical Advisor / Weapons Technical Information (WTI) Analyst serves as the primary technical Subject Matter Expert and strategic integrator embedded at FXD to synchronize global exploitation, material triage, and threat research operations across CETS Division locations and operations. Operating with high autonomy, this Subject Matter Expert (SME) leads the long-range planning of expeditionary forensic missions, designs deployable team concepts, and drafts technical Concepts of Operations (CONOPs) to inform and coordinate through CETS Division. The Advisor conducts or/leads hands-on technical analysis and device profiling of Collected Exploitable Material (CEM)—specifically targeting improvised explosive devices (IEDs), Unmanned Systems (UxS), and emerging commercial technologies—to identify signature trends and build actionable threat profiles. By overseeing analytic, physical, forensic, and biometric processes, they ensure the rapid extraction of tactical value from recovered battlefield hazards. Ultimately, they serve as the primary conduit to CETS Division, translating complex laboratory findings and processes into high-level briefings and executive correspondence for senior military leadership (O-6/GS-15+) to counter asymmetric threats worldwide. This position will support FXD at Fort Gillem, Georgia.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert to CETS Division on forensic exploitation policy, doctrine, and strategy.
  • Conduct classified operational coordination to ensure forensic lab sourcing solutions are accurate and effective.

  • Advise senior leadership on operational matters, emerging requirements, and technical forensic capabilities/limitations.
  • Coordinate with Geographic Combatant Commands, Service Component Commands, Allied partners, and Interagency organizations to identify and address emerging requirements and threats.
  • Plan, coordinate, and synchronize global forensic exploitation operations across multiple theaters simultaneously.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with global Forensic Technical Representatives (FTR), Technical Advisors, and CETS Division assets/personnel to provide guidance and integrate operations.
  • Develop and execute long-range planning for expeditionary and laboratory-based technical research and forensic exploitation missions.
  • Design and develop scalable, tailorable, and deployable Exploitation Team concepts to efficiently utilize C5ISR Center and FXD resources.
  • Shape and develop expeditionary technical research and technical exploitation Concepts of Operations (CONOPs) for incorporation into Joint Doctrine.
  • Shape, collaborate, and develop expeditionary technical research and technical exploitation Standard operating procedures across CETS DIV and FXD.
  • Develop and implement readiness metrics to report manning, equipping, and training status for FXD to inform CETS Division Leadership.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on technical and WTI analysis of recovered Collected Exploitable Material (CEM) (CONUS and OCONUS), including IED/UxS components, energetic materials, electronics, containers, initiators, firing systems, and power sources.
  • Oversee processes related to using photos, radiographic imaging, physical inspection, intelligence reporting, and other technical means to identify hazardous components and determine technical/tactical value.
  • Oversee processes related to analysis of historical, current, and emerging improvised devices, including UxS-delivered hazards, RCIEDs, and commercial-based technologies (CBT), to identify trends, build signatures, and threat profiles.
  • Produce technical assessments, device profiles, and exploitation reports for dissemination to U.S. and coalition forces on a need-to-know basis.
  • Coordinate with analysts, engineers, and technical partners to develop joint technical products and laboratory procedures.
  • Travel CONUS/OCONUS, including potential conflict areas, to support exploitation, information dissemination, and technical exchanges.
  • Operate independently and effectively as part of a dispersed DoW support team.

  • Ability to analyze threat commercial based technologies (CBT) and assess how emerging commercial technologies may be used in threat devices and influence DoW capabilities.
  • Strong research, analytical, writing, and briefing skills; capable of clear articulation to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and exploitation case management databases.
  • Ability to provide analytical trend assessments on target devices, TTPs, and emerging threat systems.
  • Deep, authoritative knowledge of forensic laboratory operations, technical threat research, material triage, biometrics matching systems, and exploitation tools (e.g., hardware/software reverse engineering, media exploitation, and threat Improvised explosive device (IED) and Unmanned Systems (UxS)).
