What does a successful MQ Admin at Fiserv do?

Messaging Infrastructure Engineer will, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary delivery team, be responsible for the deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, automating and maintenance of critical Distributed Messaging Infrastructures.

What You'll Do

·Leads troubleshooting calls and drives to root cause resolution; makes recommendations for long-term resolution of problems across the enterprise.

• Leads complex initiatives and issues within the Messaging Infrastructure technical area as well as cross functional areas.
• Works closely with the application development organization and other functional IT areas to determine best practices, tuning, problem resolution and root cause analysis in the Messaging Infrastructure space.
• Deploy, upgrade, and manage infrastructures for the MQ, ACE and Kafka environments.
• Provides technical consulting on the use & integration of the Messaging infrastructures & Middleware system utilities, tools, and applications
• Responsibilities listed are not intended to be all-inclusive and may be modified as necessary

What you will need to have:

• 5+ years of IBM MQ administration and architecture experience, including deployment, upgrades, configurations, setup, performance tuning.
• Experience with IBM MQ appliances.
• Experience with MQ on Linux, AIX & Windows
• Experience with IBM MQIPT configuration and security.
• Experience with multiple MQ topologies like clustering, multi-instance queue managers, MQ Appliance HA, RDQM/HA, RDQM/HA with DR replication.
• Experience with all MQ messaging models, including pub/sub
• Experience working with MQ monitoring tools; ITCAM, Nastel
• Experience working with large scale MQ environments.
• Strong MQ troubleshooting stills are a must with the ability to drive to root cause.
• Strong working understanding of different operating systems like Linux, Windows and AIX.
• Experience with security requirements using SSL/TLS.
• Understanding network topologies, common network protocols and services (DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, FTP, SMTP) and experience with configuring network interfaces.

DevOps

• Cloud experience with Azure, AWS, etc.
• Hands-on experience with Shell, Perl and Python etc. scripting to automate day-to-day activities.
• Hands on with DevOps technologies like Ansible and RunDeck.
• Experience with log management tools like Splunk.
• 24X7 Production support is required.

What would be great to have:

• Experience with OpenShift and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with using a ticketing system to document and track work status.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• A self-starter with strong communication and collaborative skills.
