Community-GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a Team Leader (Medical Assistant) to serve as a key leader within our urgent care centers. In this role, you'll act as the on-site operational leader and trusted partner to the Regional Operations Manager, helping guide day-to-day center operations, support staff development, and ensure an exceptional patient experience.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Medical Assistant or healthcare professional who is ready to take the next step into leadership while remaining actively involved in patient care and center operations.

What You'll Do

Leadership & Team Development

• Serve as the frontline leader and operational point person for assigned centers.
• Provide coaching, support, and regular one-on-one meetings with team members.
• Conduct monthly center meetings and facilitate team communication.
• Assist with interviewing, onboarding, training, and performance management.
• Partner with leadership and People teams to address attendance, performance, and behavioral concerns.
• Support new hire development and collaborate with training teams regarding employee progress.
• Foster a positive, engaged, and collaborative team culture.

Center Operations

• Partner closely with the Regional Operations Manager to drive operational success and key business initiatives.
• Monitor center performance metrics, including patient experience, volume, throughput, and operational KPIs.
• Review patient feedback and assist with service recovery and complaint resolution.
• Conduct routine center walkthroughs to identify facility, equipment, and operational needs.
• Monitor inventory levels, place supply orders, and oversee monthly inventory processes.
• Ensure quality assurance and quality control logs are completed accurately and timely.
• Support staffing plans, weekend leadership coverage, and opening of new centers as needed.
• Assist with Manager-on-Duty responsibilities and provide leadership support during operational challenges.

Patient Care Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance eligibility.
• Obtain and document patient histories and vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examination and treatment.
• Perform point-of-care testing, including rapid flu, strep, urinalysis, ECGs, pregnancy tests, and other approved procedures.
• Support providers with patient flow and clinical documentation.
• Coordinate referrals, follow-up calls, and patient communication.
• Maintain exam rooms, equipment, supplies, and medical records.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures and ensure compliance with organizational standards.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle background check.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using electronic health records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Previous healthcare leadership, supervisory, charge, or team lead experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience working in urgent care, primary care, emergency medicine, or other fast-paced healthcare environments.

• CCMA – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (National Healthcareer Association)
• CMA – Certified Medical Assistant (American Association of Medical Assistants)
• RMA – Registered Medical Assistant (American Medical Technologists or American Allied Health)
• NCMA – National Certified Medical Assistant (National Center for Competency Testing)
• NRCMA – Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (National Association for Health Professionals)

The following credentials are also accepted at the time of hire:

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Registered Nurse (RN)
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
