  • Manage and coach a team of approximately 10–12 employees and contractors, reinforcing standard work practices, quality expectations, performance accountability, and effective use of timekeeping systems.
  • Ensure time and attendance data is captured, validated, corrected, and processed accurately and in compliance with company policy, payroll controls, labor regulations, collective bargaining agreements, and business requirements.
  • Serve as the escalation point for moderate to highly complex time, attendance, leave, payroll, and system issues involving overlapping policy, regulatory, labor agreement, and system considerations.
  • Provide expert consultation to Payroll, Labor Relations, Legal, Total Rewards, Health and Medical, Digital/IT, HR, and business stakeholders on time administration practices, pay rules, work schedules, system impacts, and compliance risks.
  • Partners with Digital/IT and technology teams on Workday, Time Management, and legacy timekeeping enhancements, including requirements gathering, testing, issue resolution, change management, and implementation support.
  • Lead or support time, leave, and payroll workstreams for system deployments, enhancements, migrations, acquisitions, divestitures, and enterprise technology transformation initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement, standardization, control effectiveness, and operational excellence across time administration processes.
  • Support talent management, performance management, skills development, workforce planning, and capability building for the Time Administration team.

Required Qualifications:

  • +5 years of experience in time administration, payroll, HR operations, workforce management, or a related function with responsibility for accurate, compliant employee time and pay outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of timekeeping processes, payroll controls, work schedules, pay practices, leave-related processes, and applicable compliance requirements.
  • Ability to interpret and apply company policies, labor agreements, regulatory requirements, and operational procedures to resolve routine and non-routine time administration issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, prioritize work, and build capability across a team or function.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, judgment, and risk-assessment skills, with the ability to evaluate complex issues and recommend practical, defensible solutions.
  • Ability to manage escalations, balance stakeholder needs, and communicate decisions and guidance clearly to employees, supervisors, HR, Payroll, Legal, Labor Relations, and business stakeholders.
  • Experience partnering across functions to improve processes, strengthen controls, resolve operational issues, and support consistent service delivery.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex time, pay, policy, or system topics into clear guidance for varied audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of U.S. and Canada time administration, wage and hour practices, collective bargaining agreement provisions, premium and differential pay rules, rotating or non-standard schedules, and complex pay applications.
  • Experience with Workday Time, Crew Time Management, or other enterprise timekeeping, payroll, or workforce management systems
  • Experience supporting system implementations, enhancements, migrations, acquisitions, divestitures, user acceptance testing, requirements gathering, change management, or process transformation initiatives.
  • Experience working in a multi-state, union, refinery, shipping/Mariner, expatriate, or other complex workforce environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority and provide enterprise-level consultation on time administration, pay practices, compliance risk, controls, process design, and system impacts.
  • Experience using data, metrics, trends, or root-cause analysis to identify process issues, improve service delivery, and drive continuous improvement.
