PagerDuty is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Tax Manager to join our global tax team in San Francisco, CA. Reporting to the Tax Director, you will play a key role in supporting the company’s tax compliance, reporting, and planning efforts. This position will focus on assisting with quarterly and annual tax provisions, tax return preparation, audits, transfer pricing, and special projects while ensuring adherence to global tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of quarterly and annual worldwide consolidated tax provisions (ASC 740) and related financial statement disclosures.
- Manage the preparation and filing of global corporate income tax returns, tax credits (e.g., R&D), and incentives.
- Prepare and maintain tax-related accounts as part of the monthly accounting close process.
- Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual tax audits.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting to ensure SOX compliance across global tax operations.
- Partner with cross-functional teams on transfer pricing documentation, intercompany transactions, and special tax planning initiatives.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of corporate income tax experience in public accounting (Big Four preferred) or a global multinational corporation.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP (specifically ASC 740) and experience preparing income tax provisions and disclosures.
- Proficient Excel skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or Master’s in Taxation (MST).
- Prior experience with SOX compliance or internal controls.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite).
- Background in the technology or Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) industry.
This role is required to be in the San Francisco office 2 days per week.
The base salary range for this position is 114,000 - 191,400 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, equity, and/or benefits.
Our base salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range, which is subject to change based on primary work location, reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we expect to pay newly hired employees for the position. Within the range, we determine pay for an individual based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills/competencies and experience.
