About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Systems Operations Senior Manager
In this role, you will:
- Manage and develop teams of analysts, associates, and less experienced managers in roles that provide technical services and support for the relevant supported systems
- Engage and influence stakeholders, internal partners, and peers in order to engineer projects, identify new products and solutions, and research solutions for existing systems
- Identify and recommend opportunities for administration and maintenance of the remote monitoring and management system, as well as the periodic system review
- Perform network assessments, security audits, and system enhancement consultations
- Determine appropriate strategy and actions of Systems Operations team to meet moderate to high risk deliverables
- Interpret and develop policies and procedures, and understand compliance and risk management requirements for supported system area
- Provide implementation support for key risk initiatives
- Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals, analysts, or associates
- Ensure the Systems Operations team communicates with customers to keep them informed of incident progress, and notify them of impending changes or agreed outages
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Systems Operations
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of Systems Engineering and Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of management or leadership experience

- Extensive experience leading large-scale Platform Engineering, Production Operations, SRE, Observability, Automation, Database, Middleware, and Enterprise Application Support organizations.
- Demonstrated success managing globally distributed teams responsible for mission-critical platforms and customer-facing services.
- Strong expertise in Cloud Engineering, SRE practices, Operational Excellence, AIOps, MLOps, Automation, and Platform Modernization initiatives.
- Proven ability to drive platform reliability, resiliency, scalability, governance, and continuous service improvement across enterprise environments.
- Experience leading strategic technology transformation programs, engineering excellence initiatives, and operational governance frameworks.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to align platform investments and operational priorities to business outcomes, customer experience, and risk reduction.
Job Expectations
- Lead and develop high-performing global engineering, platform, and operational support teams responsible for delivering secure, resilient, and highly available technology services.
- Define and execute platform strategy, reliability engineering roadmaps, observability standards, automation frameworks, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Establish and govern enterprise SRE practices including Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Error Budgets, reliability metrics, and continuous improvement programs.
- Drive platform reliability and availability targets for critical SaaS and enterprise services, ensuring achievement of 99.99%+ service availability objectives.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Architecture, and Business stakeholders to enable scalable and resilient technology solutions.
- Champion a culture of automation and self-healing operations by leveraging Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), Ansible, AIOps, and intelligent operational tooling.
- Lead cloud transformation and modernization efforts across Azure, AWS, GCP, VMware, PCF, and hybrid environments.
- Oversee enterprise observability platforms including AppDynamics, Splunk, Grafana, ThousandEyes, BigPanda, and related monitoring ecosystems.
- Establish operational governance, release management, incident management, problem management, capacity planning, and risk management processes.
- Drive continuous improvement in operational KPIs including MTTD, MTTR, service availability, incident reduction, automation adoption, and customer experience metrics.
- Provide executive-level reporting, platform health insights, and strategic recommendations to senior technology leadership.
- Manage platform lifecycle activities including architecture reviews, software releases, patching, upgrades, performance optimization, and technology refresh initiatives.
- Foster engineering talent through coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and career development programs.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise technology standards, security controls, audit requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs, distributed systems, and enterprise-scale platform operations.
- Expertise with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, release automation, and deployment tools such as UCD, Harness, GitHub Actions, or equivalent platforms.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL technologies including Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, and other enterprise data platforms.
- Strong knowledge of ITSM practices and tools including ServiceNow, Jira, and enterprise operational workflows.
- Experience with GitHub, Azure DevOps/TFS, or equivalent version control and software engineering platforms.
- Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Product Operating Models, and technology delivery frameworks
