We are an ambitious and committed team of engineers, AI specialists and customer-facing programme managers. We are looking for mission-driven people to join our European teams, and apply their skills to solve the most complex and impactful problems. We embrace an open and transparent culture that welcomes healthy debates on the use of technology in defence, its benefits, and its ethical implications.
The role
As an Avionics Systems Engineer for weapon integration, you will be responsible for the integration and qualification of weapon systems end to end, from early concept through to certification. You will be the connecting point between weapon suppliers, our customers and our engineering teams across aerodynamics, structures, mission systems, electrics, environmental engineering, safety and maintenance logistics. You will shape the design and analysis work, define the test campaign across rig, ground and flight testing, and make sure weapon-specific requirements are satisfied in every technical domain. Your engineering judgement will help European forces field effects that are safe, certified and available when they are needed most.
The day-to-day
-
Steward the full weapon integration lifecycle, from concept definition to qualification and release to service, holding the integration plan, schedule and technical risk register
-
Agree and track the technical integration activities with weapon suppliers, and co-ordinate the contributions of aerodynamics, structures, mission systems, electrics, safety and logistics teams into a single, coherent design baseline
-
Define and approve weapon-specific design and analysis work, including store separation, aerodynamic compatibility, kinematics and structural limits, and produce the system specifications, interface control documents and architecture concepts that engineering teams build against
-
Set the test and qualification strategy, then support rig, ground and flight test campaigns and turn the results into the evidence needed for airworthiness and military certification
-
Act as the reference point on weapon systems for customers, procurement authorities and internal teams, resolving interface conflicts between subsystems and guiding technical reviews such as SRR, PDR and CDR
You should apply if you
-
Have integrated external stores, missiles or weapon systems onto a military platform and taken that work through to qualification or certification
-
Apply systems engineering practice with confidence, including the V-model and standards such as ARP4754A or INCOSE guidance
-
Work fluently with military and airworthiness standards relevant to weapon integration, for example MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760, MIL-STD-810 and DO-160
-
Manage requirements in tools such as IBM DOORS or Siemens Polarion, and explain complex technical trade-offs clearly to both engineering and management audiences
-
Meet the conditions for an extended German security clearance (Ü2/Ü3), given the sensitive nature of the programme, and communicate comfortably in English and German as the working language
Note: We operate in an industry where women, as well as other minority groups, are systematically under-represented. We encourage you to apply even if you don't meet all the listed qualifications; ability and impact cannot be summarised in a few bullet points.

Have worked on uncrewed platforms or jet programmes alongside armed forces or procurement authorities
