Supply Support Activity (SSA) Stock Control Lead
POSITION SUMMARY
The SSA Stock Control Lead oversees all stock record management, accountability, and demand-driven materiel support within a theater-level Supply Support Activity (SSA) in Southwest Asia. This role ensures accurate inventory control, reconciliation, cataloging, and materiel forecasting while coordinating closely with Receiving, Storage, and Issues Sections. The lead directs stock control operations, supervises personnel, and maintains audit-ready documentation in accordance with Army regulations and theater sustainment requirements.
HOW A STOCK CONTROL LEAD WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Manages all stock record operations including cataloging, due-in/due-out management, and demand analysis.
Maintains accountability of all SSA inventory and conducts reconciliation with GCSS-Army records.
Performs cyclic inventories, causative research, and discrepancy resolution to ensure 100% accuracy.
Monitors demand history, replenishment cycles, and forecasting metrics for Class II, III(P), IV, VII, and IX materiel.
Validates and processes supply transactions including MROs, STOs, and adjustments.
Coordinates with Receiving, Storage, and Issues Sections to ensure proper materiel flow and record alignment.
Initiates and tracks Supply Discrepancy Reports (SDRs) and collaborates with higher headquarters for resolution.
Prepares stock status reports, inventory roll-ups, and historical documentation.
Ensures proper management of controlled items, shelf-life materiel, and non-stocked items.
Verifies catalog integrity, NSN updates, and unit-of-issue accuracy.
Coordinates with AMC, DLA, and theater logistics agencies for requisition management and backorder resolution.
Supports retrograde, lateral transfers, and theater redistribution management operations.
Maintains audit readiness and compliance with AR 710-2, DA PAM 710-2-2, AR 735-5, and ARCENT/1TSC policy.
Participate in logistics synchronization meetings, inventory review boards, and materiel management working groups.
Ensures accountability, safety, and operational continuity in austere or extreme-heat environments.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
A bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience or a HS Diploma and 9+ years of Army supply/logistics experience.
Proficiency with GCSS-Army including stock record management and inventory modules.
Experience performing causative research, reconciliation, and audit preparation.
Understanding of Army supply regulations, cataloging standards, and accountability requirements.
Knowledge of demand analysis, forecasting, and materiel readiness metrics.
Experience supervising Soldiers, DA civilians, or contractor personnel.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in austere, deployed, or extreme-heat environments.
Ability to meet LOGCAP V deployment requirements.
Active U.S. Secret clearance (preferred).
Valid U.S. passport and ability to meet CRC requirements.
Willingness to deploy to SWA or other assigned locations
Ability to regularly stand, bend and lift 40 lbs.
CERTIFICATIONS
HAZMAT / HAZCOM certification (required or obtainable after hire).
Theater-required certifications (AT, OPSEC, Cyber, etc.).
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is conducted in warehouse or office environments with exposure to physical and environmental hazards. Required PPE includes head, hand, foot, torso, respiratory, and vision protection. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, host-nation standards, and company policies. Position may require deployment to Southwest Asia.

The likely salary range for this position is $76,500 - $103,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.Scheduled Weekly Hours:
