Introduction: 

GlobalFoundries is seeking a Supply Chain Strategist to strengthen parts planning across our global manufacturing network. This role will develop and govern data-driven planning strategies for spare and repair parts, balancing availability and service levels with inventory investment and working-capital objectives. The candidate will partner with procurement, engineering, logistics, finance, and suppliers to improve demand and lead-time inputs, optimize repair loops and stocking policies, manage supply risks, and deliver measurable improvements through analytics, standardized processes, and cross-functional execution. The position is based in Bangalore – Manyata Embassy Business Park. 

Your Job: 

• Own and continuously improve end-to-end planning strategies, policies, parameters, and governance for spare and repair parts across fabs and equipment groups. 

• Develop inventory and repair-loop recommendations using demand history, variability, criticality, service-level targets, lead times, yield, tool-down risks, obsolescence risk, and total cost considerations. 

• Balance equipment availability and operational resilience with inventory investment and working-capital objectives; quantify trade-offs and present clear recommendations to decision-makers. 

• Lead periodic reviews of supplier lead times, transit times, minimum order quantities, repair capacity, and other planning master data parameters; establish controls to maintain data accuracy. 

• Monitor shortages, excess and obsolete inventory, repair backlogs, and supply continuity risks; drive root-cause analysis, mitigation plans, and timely cross-functional escalation. 

• Partner with procurement, equipment engineering, maintenance, manufacturing, logistics, finance, and suppliers to align forecasts, sourcing and repair strategies and stocking decisions. 

• Define and track performance indicators such as part availability, service level, shortage exposure, repair turnaround time, inventory turns, excess and obsolete inventory, and working capital; translate insights into actions. 

• Build scalable analytical models, dashboards, and scenario simulations to support planning decisions, policy changes, and executive reviews. 

• Standardize parts-planning processes across sites, document business rules, support system and automation initiatives, and train planners and stakeholders on adopted methods. 

• Lead cross-functional improvement projects and communicate recommendations, risks, decisions, and benefits to stakeholders at operational and leadership levels. 

Required Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from top-tier institutes in India. 

• Strong strategic thinking, stakeholder management, structured problem solving, and change-management skills in a global matrix organization. 

• Minimum 7 years of experience in supply chain planning, inventory optimization, spare-parts planning, repair operations, materials management, or a closely related field. 

• Demonstrated experience applying quantitative analysis to inventory policy, service-level, lead-time, demand-variability, or working-capital decisions. 

• Ability to structure and break down problems into root causes and recommend data-driven solutions to solve the problems. 

• Stakeholder management skills and the ability to handle difficult conversations across functions and stakeholders. 

• Proven ability to lead cross-functional problem solving and communicate complex supply chain topics clearly to both technical and business stakeholders. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• MBA from top-tier Indian B-Schools (IIMs, ISB). 

• Top-tier management consulting experience (MBBs, Kearney, Accenture, Deloitte, A&M, and others) 

• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, high-tech manufacturing, spare parts, maintenance-repair-operations, or another asset-intensive environment. 

• Knowledge of service-parts planning, repair-loop optimization, multi-echelon inventory concepts, equipment criticality, reliability, and product or part lifecycle management. 

• Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP platforms, deep understanding of advanced analytics or visualization tools such as Power BI, and data-query or automation tools such as SQL or Python to get things done.
