The Supply Chain Manager for Payload/GNC/Electro-mechanical is responsible for leading the company's various flight hardware procurements, developing strategic supplier relationships, and implementing efficient sourcing strategies that optimize cost, lead time, and operational performance across the organization.
Role
- Manages all stages of procurement for strategic flight hardware. Owning the entire lifecycle process from vendor evaluation, contract execution to deliverables and post-launch support.
- Commodity Management: Oversees sourcing strategy for our most complex electro-mechanical products across payload, antenna, mechanical and guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) assemblies.
- Contracts: Lead commercial negotiations and finalize vendor contracts. Own end-to-end RFI, RFP, and RFQ process for strategic hardware purchases, ensuring commercial terms are negotiated and appropriately documented.
- Lead negotiations for NDAs, Statements of Work (SOWs), Supply Agreements and Master Purchase Agreements and other commercial contracts before business is initiated.
- Vendor Relations: Develop sourcing and negotiation strategies that achieve business objectives while building strong, long-term partnerships with strategic vendors.
- Purchasing: Place purchase orders for medium to high value components.
- Evaluate suppliers based on commercial and technical performance that balance business requirements, cost, and long-term value.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including design, engineering, finance, program management and production.
- Travel: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (~15-20% of the time).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or a related discipline (or comparable experience).
- Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in software procurement, strategic sourcing, vendor management, or related supply chain disciplines.
- Experience negotiating high-value hardware contracts.
- Excellent communication skills and track record of managing strategic external relationships
- Strong experience working with cross-functional engineering teams as well as reporting to executive presence
- Incredibly detail-oriented—the type of person who thrives on managing multiple contracts and vendor relationships while maintaining exceptional organization.
