Purpose:

The Supply Chain Manager – Materials is responsible for leading regional materials planning, procurement, sourcing, and inventory management activities to ensure the reliable availability of materials required to support clinical trial kit production. This role drives effective supply continuity, inventory accuracy, and material readiness while balancing service, cost, and inventory objectives to enable efficient operations and successful delivery to customers.

Major Job Responsibilities

• Regional Materials Planning & Supply Management – Lead the regional materials planning and supply management function to ensure timely availability of materials required to support clinical trial kit production and customer requirements. Establish appropriate planning strategies that balance material availability, inventory investment, lead times, and operational demand.
• Procurement & Supplier Management – Oversee regional procurement activities to ensure materials are purchased in accordance with demand requirements, quality standards, and business needs. Drive effective supplier performance and proactively address supply constraints, shortages, lead-time risks, and other issues that could impact clinical trial kit production.
• Strategic Sourcing & Supply Continuity – Lead regional sourcing activities to establish reliable and cost-effective sources of supply for materials supporting clinical trial operations. Identify and mitigate material supply risks through supplier diversification, alternative sourcing strategies, and collaboration with internal and external partners.
• Inventory Management & Control – Provide leadership and oversight for the on-site inventory management team, ensuring inventory accuracy, effective cycle counting and reconciliation processes, appropriate inventory controls, and timely resolution of discrepancies. Drive inventory optimization while maintaining material availability required to support operations.
• Team Leadership & Capability Development – Lead, develop, and manage regional planning, buying, sourcing, and inventory personnel. Establish clear expectations and accountability, develop team capabilities, allocate resources effectively, and foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and customer focus.
• Supply Chain Performance & Continuous Improvement – Establish, monitor, and improve key supply chain performance measures related to material availability, inventory accuracy, supplier performance, service, cost, and working capital. Identify and implement process improvements that increase supply chain effectiveness, scalability, and operational performance.
• Cross-Functional Operational Partnership – Partner with Operations, Project Management, Quality, Commercial, Finance, and other supply chain stakeholders to align material strategies with clinical trial requirements, production priorities, and changing customer demand. Serve as the regional escalation point for significant material availability and supply-related risks affecting operational execution.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification

Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years).

1+ year of leadership responsibility

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, including materials planning, procurement, sourcing, inventory management, and supplier management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data, identify risks, and make sound business decisions.
• Knowledge of inventory control, demand and supply planning, and working capital optimization principles.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and manage competing demands in a complex, fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills across functions and organizational levels.
• Ability to identify supply risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
• Strong continuous improvement mindset with the ability to drive process standardization and operational improvements.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and supply chain planning tools; strong data and Microsoft Excel skills.

Working Conditions and Environment:

The role is performed in a home office or office environment with regular interaction across global teams utilizing digital collaboration technologies.

Requires frequent domestic and international travel (approximately 10%) to support strategic investigator engagement, executive customer meetings, regional leadership meetings, industry conferences, site visits, and organizational priorities.
