The Fulfillment Planning Manager will be a critical member of the Supply Chain Planning team, owning the weekly cadence of planning JWN fulfillment volumes to drive labor planning and daily execution across Fulfillment Centers (FCs), Store Operations (Store Fulfillment), and Final Mile Transportation. Each weekly plan run requires cross-functional engagement and upstream stakeholder management to drive aligned operational plans across banners and fulfillment channels, plus hands-on modeling knowledge to achieve day-level accuracy in the near term. In addition to managing and improving current state planning capabilities, the Fulfillment Planning Manager will have responsibilities for defining and shaping future state capabilities in partnership with Product Management. 

This is a player/coach role, responsible for building the total plan, while also directly managing one planner, who owns the store-level fulfillment plan. More direct reports may be added in the future. 

This role will require strong data analytics skills, fluency with AI and agentic tooling applied to planning work, a pragmatic attitude, and comfort in driving decisions. The Fulfillment Planning Manager is expected to balance on-going planning activities with one-off analysis and recommendations to support executive decisions. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. This role will require directly driving analysis as well as shaping the efforts of partner teams to achieve impactful business outcomes. 

The ideal candidate for this role has prior experience in Demand, Fulfillment, or Labor Planning for a retail supply chain, as well as exposure to using AI tooling to automate analytical work. 

A day in the life… 

• Own outbound digital demand plans including modeling, reporting, and analysis as well as the relationship with upstream and downstream customers (plans produced at a daily grain, hourly for select instances) 

• Use AI and agentic tooling (e.g., Claude Code) to build, run, and maintain repeatable planning workflows 

• Develop new models to inform planning assumptions and variance analysis 

• Meet with stakeholders to understand business levers (e.g., Sales trends, Promo plans, etc.) 

• Manage and develop one store-focused planner: set priorities, review processes, and grow their modeling and stakeholder skills 

• Support weekly business rhythms for Operational executive leadership 

• Create daily scaled event reporting and analysis for executive leaders 

• Execute ad-hoc analysis to resolve planning risks or shape immediate decisions 

• Establish and execute against quarterly priorities to drive improved planning outcomes 

• Review Data Science outputs and provide feedback on approach 

• Provide user requirements and feedback to Product Management partners 

You own this if you have… 

• 5+ years of planning or analytics experience 

• Ability to manage disparate priorities and coordinate various stakeholders to drive action 

• Strong communication skills and comfort in engaging with business leaders 

• Demonstrated use of AI tooling to accelerate analytical and planning work, and the judgment to know when to validate its output 

• Advanced Excel and SQL skills to support daily planning activities 

• Experience in Retail Supply Chain or Supply Chain Planning is preferred 

• Experience directly or indirectly managing teams (this role has one direct report)
