About the role:

Reporting to the Superintendent of Mine Services, the Supervisor, Mine operations,  is responsible for assigning work and supervising the Mine Operation crews in meeting production objectives in a safe, environmentally responsible, and efficient manner. The position follows a 4x4 schedule rotation of day and night shifts.

To be successful, we are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, who works well as an individual and as a team player. This person has strong analytical, logistical, and problem-solving skills, and can prioritize demands in a fast-paced environment. Leadership skills would be vital for success.

  • In this role you will:

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Lead and empower employees in achieving operating targets and improve employee work performance and efficiency through mentorship, feedback and achieving safe operating targets
  • Manage and optimize truck, shovel, drilling, and blasting functions to improve production and minimize operating costs
  • Administer the collective agreement, safety, and mine and environmental regulations (health and safety reclamation code) in a manner consistent with policies and procedures
  • Read and understand maps along with mine plans, mine maintenance activities and collaborate closely with other shift supervisors, engineers, and maintenance personnel in coordinating mining activities
  • Participate in industrial relations and safety investigations
  •  

    Requirements:

    • Possess a valid Open Pit Shift Boss certificate
    • Minimum three years demonstrated ability in an open pit mining environment  
    • Basic digital literacy and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite®  
    • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent 

    Salary range: 123,000 - 152,000 CAD /year


    The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
