Get to Know the Opportunity:

This position is part of Voya Investment Management (Voya IM) and our Summer Student Program, offering students the opportunity to gain firsthand experience in the investment management industry while working alongside professionals across the Voya IM organization.

The summer student will gain exposure to a variety of legal matters, with a primary focus on investment-related commercial agreements, regulatory filings, legal research and general support of attorneys and other professionals on the Legal team.

This role is based in our Atlanta office, with expected onsite presence on average up to 3 days per week to support team and business priorities.

The Contributions You’ll Make:

• Assist with reviewing and drafting regulatory filings and disclosure documents
• Analyze and present summaries of recent and pending legal and regulatory changes
• Review and draft contracts related to Voya IM’s investment advisory business
• Perform legal research and produce written analysis to support the Legal team
• Provide general support to attorneys and assist with other duties as assigned.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must currently be attending law school and pursuing a Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
• Experience in legal research and writing
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Effective problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as a team member
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Knowledge & Experience:

• Interest in investments, securities law, and related regulatory matters.

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
