Job Description Summary:
Substance Use Aide is a care provider who provides care to individuals impacted by a variety of behavioral health (addiction/substance use and mental health) issues. They recognize the individuals we serve often have experienced trauma that affects their development and adjustment. They demonstrate a warm and welcoming empathic, hopeful attitude, conveying a philosophy of dual recovery. They will be trained in trauma-informed care and will work to help provide services in an environment that is sensitive and responsive which will prevent victimization, abuse, or trauma as a result of the care received. Substance Use Aide will normally report directly to the Nursing Supervisor unless assigned to an adjunct program with the Ozark Center.
Education
High School diploma or equivalent required
Preferred Qualifications:
One (1) years’ experience working in substance abuse treatment preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Meets the total needs of unit patients as determined by the Nursing Supervisor.
- Recognize acute need, reporting same to the Nursing Supervisor.
- Performs other duties as assigned or directed by the Nursing Supervisor.
- Collect and monitor clinical demographic, statistic, and research data for the Disaster State Response Grant (DSRG), via in person, telephone, or telehealth communication.

Physical Requirements:
- Typical physical demands include prolonged sitting, frequent standing, bending, stooping, and occasional lifting.
- Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to provide direct care to patients and to operate telephone, photocopier, calculator, and other office equipment as needed.
- Requires physical, sensory and cognitive abilities.
- Sufficient sensory-motor dexterity to complete motor skills tasks such as operating a keyboard, telephone, scanner, photocopier, calculator, and other office equipment as needed.
- Must be able to make a bed, handle linens, serve meals, organize storage spaces, and practice safety procedures within corporate policy.
- Must occasionally deal with irate individuals.
- Must be able to work in high paced, stressful situations.
- Requires ability to work under stressful conditions and to work irregular hours.
- TB test upon hire.
