Nevada State University invites applications for the position of Student Worker - Student Ambassador in the Admissions & Recruitment office. The student worker will provide prospective students, parents, and visitors exceptional customer service, assisting them with general inquiries, campus tours, and recruitment-related activities. As a student worker, you will play an essential role in introducing prospective students to our university and creating a welcoming environment on campus.

Core Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist students and parents visiting the Admissions & Recruitment office. 
• Lead campus tours, sharing insights about the University’s programs, campus life, and resources. 
• Assist in planning and executing campus recruitment events. 
• Respond promptly and professionally to phone calls and emails related to admissions and recruitment inquiries. 
• Scan and upload documents into the admissions database. 
• Provide support on various projects and administrative tasks within the Admissions & Recruitment department. 
• Contribute to social media content creation and posting. 
• Offer assistance to other university departments as needed. 
• Attend and table at off-campus recruitment fairs (mileage will be reimbursed). 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be in good academic standing and maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
• Must be enrolled as a degree seeking student with a minimum of 6 credits in the current or upcoming semester at Nevada State.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual.
• Previous customer service experience. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
• Familiarity with PeopleSoft, Element451, or OnBase systems is a plus. 
• Some digital creation knowledge.       

Work Hours:

This position will work 15 hours per week. Student employees can work up to 19.5 hours per week.

Hourly Rate:

$14.00 per hour.
