Our comprehensive portfolio of unified solutions help run, manage, support, customize, configure, connect, protect, monitor, and optimize enterprise application, database and technology software, enabling our clients to achieve better business outcomes, significantly reduce costs and reallocate resources towards strategic projects.
The Company has signed thousands of contracts with Fortune Global 100, Fortune 500, midmarket, public sector and government organizations who selected Rimini Street as their trusted, proven mission-critical enterprise software solutions provider and achieved better operational outcomes, realized billions of US dollars in savings and funded AI and other innovation investments.
We are seeking a Staff Engineer, Agentic Solutions and Reusable Platforms, Innovation Solutions to join our team. Reporting directly to the GVP of Innovation Solution Delivery, this remote position is open to qualified candidates located in Australia or New Zealand (ANZ).
About the team
Rimini Street’s Innovation Solutions group builds and delivers agentic AI for enterprise customers on top of their existing ERP estate (SAP, Oracle E-Business Suite and others), on the major hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on our own agentic platform. Engineering operates from three global centers (India, Malaysia, Brazil) alongside client-facing delivery teams, and makes heavy use of AI coding tools.
Our software operates inside enterprise systems of record. Defects carry financial, statutory and operational consequences for the customer.
The role
Take what we build for one customer and make it the fastest path to the next. Identify what is reusable in delivered solutions, extract it into frameworks, patterns, reference implementations and an engineering approach that the whole group builds to, and work with product and delivery leadership to turn proven solutions into repeatable offerings.
The role is hands-on. Expect to own architecture, build proofs of concept, work in the codebase and take on the harder technical problems alongside the engineering teams.
The role works directly with the Group Vice President and progressively takes ownership of technical areas he currently leads personally. It requires someone who understands the enterprise ERP and agentic AI landscape, operates independently and can be trusted to drive technical direction across the engineering side of the group.
The role works in conjunction with the Rimini Street certification process, which is the overall governance process for how we deploy agentic AI. The certification process defines the requirements a solution must meet. This role owns the engineering patterns and practice that meet them.
What you’ll do
- Turn delivered solutions into reusable assets. After each customer build, identify what is generic, separate it from what is customer-specific, and extract it into frameworks, libraries, integration patterns and reference implementations that delivery teams can apply to the next customer.
- Shape repeatable offerings. Work with product, delivery and commercial leadership to convert successful solutions into defined, scoped and priceable offerings with a standard build approach.
- Own the reference architecture and engineering patterns for agentic solutions on ERP. Integration and tool contracts, identity and permission propagation, data boundaries, human-in-the-loop design, evaluation and observability, and deployment across SAP, Oracle and the hyperscalers.
- Anchor the ERP side of the estate. Set the technical approach for agentic solutions over Oracle E-Business Suite and SAP, build the first reference implementations, and guide the integration engineers in the engineering centres.
- Build the agentic capability further. Architect and prototype new agentic solutions, prove them on real customer problems, and carry the successful ones through to production-grade components.
- Hold the production bar. One definition of production-ready, stated in explicit and testable terms, applied to platform work and to the work delivery teams take to customers. Define what must be true before prototype work is promoted to supportable product.
- Own the engineering standards and the software development lifecycle of record across the engineering centers: specification-driven development, review practice, definition of done, release cadence, and the pipeline that enforces them.
- Progressively take ownership of technical areas led by the Group Vice President today, including platform architecture decisions, the multi-cloud portability approach, the internal engineering environment and build tooling, and technical arbitration between platform and delivery.
- Develop engineers. Mentor, review and pair across the engineering centers, and raise reviewing and design capability across a growing and largely junior population.
What we’re looking for
- 10+ years building and operating production software, including several years owning technical direction beyond your own delivery. We are open on years and on title; the requirement is demonstrated scope.
- Deep hands-on ERP technical experience in Oracle E-Business Suite or SAP. Systems in live customer use, not prototypes, proofs of concept or pre-sales work. Working depth in the platform’s integration and extension surfaces: for Oracle, PL/SQL, Integrated SOA Gateway and REST, Oracle Application Framework and workflow; for SAP, ABAP, BAPI/RFC, IDoc and OData. Oracle E-Business Suite depth is particularly valuable to us.
- Experience in a legislatively or regulatorily driven domain, such as financials and statutory reporting, payroll and superannuation, tax, privacy and data protection, or e-invoicing. These domains require externally defined correctness, fixed external deadlines and demonstrable evidence of compliance after the fact.
- Hands-on experience designing and building agentic or LLM-based solutions: agents with tool and function calling, tool contracts, retrieval, evaluation and guardrails, and human-in-the-loop control, with at least one taken into real use.
- A track record of turning bespoke work into reusable assets: frameworks, accelerators, patterns or libraries adopted by teams beyond the project that produced them.
- A track record of setting engineering standards adopted by teams you did not manage, including standards that remained in place after you moved on.
- Experience halting a release on quality or risk grounds, and the judgement to weigh that decision against its cost.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical direction without line authority, through contribution and credibility, and to operate independently once given a remit.
- Current hands-on engineering capability.
Technical Competencies
Required working depth in the following. You should be able to design, build, operate and teach each of them.
- Agentic system architecture: agent and tool design, orchestration, state and durable execution, human approval flows, evaluation and observability of agent behaviour.
- ERP integration: the integration surfaces of at least one of Oracle EBS (PL/SQL, ISG, REST) and SAP (BAPI/RFC, IDoc, OData), with working familiarity with the other.
- Identity, permissions and data boundaries in enterprise systems: named-user propagation, least privilege, auditability.
- Software development lifecycle end to end: specification, design review, build, test, release, operate and support, including the entry and exit criteria between stages.
- Release engineering and CI/CD: branching and trunk strategy, versioning, environment promotion, quality gating, reproducible builds, and use of the pipeline to enforce standards.
- Test strategy: unit, integration, contract and end-to-end testing, negative testing, and evaluation suites for non-deterministic components.
- Cloud platforms: working knowledge of AWS, Azure and GCP services relevant to running AI workloads, and the ability to keep solutions portable across them.
- Software supply chain: dependency and secret scanning, software bills of materials, licensing position, and artefact provenance.
- Engineering documentation: design documents, architecture decision records, specifications and runbooks.
Beyond the ERP depth above, no specific language, framework or cloud is required.
Nice to have
- Deep Oracle E-Business Suite technical experience, and technical depth in both Oracle and SAP.
- Experience with other Rimini-supported enterprise software, such as PeopleSoft or JD Edwards.
- Experience across both a product engineering organisation and a services or delivery organisation, and in particular building products or offerings out of services work.
- Experience establishing engineering discipline in an organisation that did not previously have it.
- Experience working across multiple regions and time zones.
How this role fits
The role sits within Platform Engineering, reporting to the Vice President, Platform Engineering, and works directly with the Group Vice President, Innovation Solution Delivery on the technical areas it takes on. It works day to day with the engineering centers in India, Malaysia and Brazil, with APAC delivery leadership, with the certification and governance function, and with product leadership on the offerings it helps shape.
The role is based in Australia to provide working-hours coverage across both the engineering centers and APAC delivery teams.
