8am is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our growing team. The Staff Accountant plays a key role in the month-end close process and will report to the GL Accounting Manager. The ideal candidate will have a solid accounting background, comprehensive understanding of
GAAP and strong analytical and problem-solving skills

What you'll do:
- Perform month-end close functions for multiple entities
- Prepare journal entries
- Analyze and book accruals for pending invoices, open purchase orders,
contracts, and credit card transactions - Reconcile, provide supporting documentation and detailed analysis for
assigned balance sheet accounts - Review and provide notes from detailed analysis to assigned cost center
income statement for month over month and year over year variances - Perform actual to budget/forecast Income Statement review for assigned cost
center
- Cross train with accounting team on prepaids, fixed assets, and other functional areas
as assigned - Record cash transaction activity and reconcile all bank accounts
- Support financial and tax audits by providing PBC schedules and documentation as
assigned - Ensure procedures are in accordance with GAAP requirements and accounting
department policies - Perform ad hoc analysis as request
About you:
- 2-4 years accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance preferred
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, verbal, listening and written communication
skills - Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Confident self-starter with a solid ability to work both independently and
collaboratively with other departments - Experience with ERP systems (Workday experience a plus)
- Demonstrated understanding of financial/accounting principles and systems
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
