Job Description

We are looking for a Lead Solutions Consultant to join our growing EMEA Asset Owner team in London - corporate pension schemes, local government pension funds (LGPS), sovereign wealth funds, and insurers, front to back office. In this senior, client-facing, pre-sales role you will lead how Clearwater wins and onboards the most complex asset management mandates — owning the strategic, technical and written deliverables that move high-value opportunities through the sales cycle, and setting the bar for the Solutions Consultants around you.

You will partner with senior prospective stakeholders, including CIOs, CFOs, heads of operations and technology, to uncover the pain points in their current operating model and demonstrate, clearly and credibly, how the Clearwater solution solves those problems and adds measurable value. Alongside this you will shape the sales resources, documentation and standards the wider EMEA team relies on, and mentor and develop the next generation of Solutions Consultants, continually looking for ways to strengthen our proposition.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned, creative and self-starting problem-solver with 10-12 years of relevant experience, who earns the trust of executives, colleagues and clients alike, combining deep technical fluency with the commercial instinct to turn complex requirements into compelling solutions.

Responsibilities
Lead senior-level discovery with prospective clients to understand their current infrastructure, business requirements and operational challenges, and articulate how Clearwater's solution transforms their operating model.

  • Own the pre-sales workstream on the most complex, high-value software sales, from discovery through to solution design and handover, acting as the senior technical and commercial voice in the deal.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to C-suite and senior investment, operations, finance and technology stakeholders, building a compelling business case grounded in measurable value.
  • Develop and maintain expert-level, demonstrable knowledge across the full breadth of Clearwater's products and the value they deliver, serving as a go-to subject matter expert internally and externally.
  • Communicate Clearwater's core value proposition persuasively, through written documentation, demonstrations and live presentations to executive audiences, including conferences and client events.
  • Lead and quality-assure prospect RFPs and DDQs, ensuring high-quality, accurate and timely responses, and shape the standards, content library and processes the wider team uses.
  • Partner with Sales leadership on deal strategy, qualification, pipeline planning and forecasting, and on the research and preparation behind high-impact sales meetings and demos.
  • Mentor, coach and develop Solutions Consultants, raising the capability and consistency of the EMEA pre-sales function.
  • Coordinate resources across Clearwater to support sales efforts and ensure a smooth transition of new clients to our Global Delivery team.
  • Provide market and client insight to Product and Engineering to influence the roadmap, and contribute to go-to-market initiatives for the Asset Owner segment.
  • Solve complex, abstract problems and develop creative solutions to non-standard client requirements.

 Required Skills:

  • Proven record of exceeding goals/quotas in a senior pre-sales or client-facing role.
  • Relevant experience in Asset Management, Asset Owner, Insurance, Investment Management, FinTech, Investment Accounting, or Investment Operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership, with experience mentoring or managing consultants.
  • Commitment to agility, continuous learning, improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Strong data analysis skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with executive presence.
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities.

Requirements:

  • 10-12 years of relevant experience in investment operations, investment management, insurance or investment accounting, including significant time in a client-facing pre-sales or consulting role.
  • A clear understanding of the challenges facing the industry, particularly around reporting, data management and accounting, and a point of view on where it is heading.
  • Familiarity with the needs of the different personas within an asset owner, from front office to operations, finance and technology, and an expert understanding of the Asset Owner market in UK and Europe.
  • Strong knowledge of financial services and fixed income securities; a professional qualification such as the CFA is preferable.
  • Track record of leading complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles and RFP/DDQ processes through to successful outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and articulate complex propositions clearly to senior audiences.
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal, leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong technical skills, including Excel and the ability to quickly become proficient in in-house software solutions.
  • A commitment to agility, continuous learning and operational excellence, combined with competitiveness, curiosity, creativity and drive.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 40% of the time, primarily across the UK and Europe and occasionally internationally, for client meetings, workshops, conferences and events.
  • Fluent in business English, additional languages preferable - French and German
