Position Overview:

You will play a key role in leading Polaris’ material compliance initiatives by ensuring products, components, and materials meet applicable global regulatory requirements throughout their lifecycle. In this role, you will provide technical expertise in regulatory interpretation, compliance risk assessment, documentation, and cross-functional coordination while supporting enterprise-wide compliance programs. You will partner with internal teams, suppliers, laboratories, and regulatory stakeholders to address complex compliance challenges and drive continuous improvement in compliance processes and systems. You will also help develop team capability through mentoring and technical guidance. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead material compliance activities related to global regulations, including Prop 65, REACH, RoHS, TSCA, and PFAS.
  • Perform advanced compliance assessments of bills of materials (BOMs), components, and materials to identify risks and support decision-making.
  • Drive compliance strategy throughout the product lifecycle for new product development and existing products.
  • Interpret and apply global regulatory requirements to products, components, materials, and supplier-provided information.
  • Prepare compliance documentation, regulatory declarations, reports, and supporting records for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead change management activities related to regulatory updates and assess impacts on existing products and compliance programs.
  • Serve as a technical resource for suppliers, laboratories, and regulatory agencies to support compliance verification and issue resolution.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain compliance processes, tools, and documentation systems to improve program effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with engineering, sourcing, quality, and other cross-functional teams to address complex compliance challenges.
  • Mentor compliance engineers and analysts by providing technical guidance and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a closely related discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience in compliance testing, regulatory compliance, sustainability, environmental science, or a related field.
  • Deep knowledge of material compliance regulations and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex regulatory frameworks and technical documentation.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions and organizational levels.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and navigate complex regulatory environments.
  • Experience developing or improving compliance processes, tools, or documentation systems.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10%.
  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

The starting pay range for Minnesota is $92,000 to $115,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.  While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.
