Senior Verification Manager – Automotive Connectivity SoCs (E2B) 

About the Role 

As a Senior Verification Manager at Analog Devices, you will lead a team of verification engineers responsible for the development and verification of next-generation automotive connectivity SoCs based on E2B technology. The role combines strong people leadership with deep technical expertise in complex SoC verification, enabling the successful delivery of safety-critical automotive products. 

You will define verification strategies and execution plans for highly integrated SoCs incorporating embedded processors, communication subsystems, firmware, security functions, and mixed-signal components. Working closely with architecture, design, firmware, functional safety, and program management teams, you will ensure robust verification coverage, successful tapeouts, and compliance with automotive quality standards. 

This position requires a hands-on technical leader who can guide teams through complex verification challenges while driving organizational excellence in verification methodologies, automation, and execution. 

Key Responsibilities 

Technical and Organizational Leadership 

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of verification engineers across multiple automotive SoC programs. 

• Establish verification methodologies, best practices, and reusable infrastructure across projects. 

• Drive hiring, career development, performance management, and technical growth within the verification organization. 

• Manage project execution, resource planning, risk assessment, and verification schedules. 

SoC Verification Strategy 

• Define and oversee verification strategies for complex automotive SoCs containing embedded processors, firmware, security features, communication controllers, DMA engines, memory subsystems, and mixed-signal IP. 

• Establish verification plans, coverage goals, and sign-off criteria aligned with product and safety requirements. 

• Drive verification closure through coverage-driven methodologies, assertions, formal verification, and software-driven verification techniques. 

Automotive Connectivity and E2B Verification 

• Lead verification activities for E2B communication technology and associated protocol implementations. 

• Ensure robust validation of protocol compliance, interoperability, error handling, diagnostics, timing behavior, and system-level performance. 

• Collaborate with architecture and firmware teams to ensure seamless hardware-software integration and protocol deployment. 

Functional Safety and Quality 

• Ensure verification activities satisfy automotive development requirements, including ISO 26262 processes and safety mechanisms verification. 

• Support safety analysis activities, fault injection campaigns, safety collateral generation, and traceability requirements. 

• Establish metrics and quality indicators to measure verification effectiveness and product readiness. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

• Partner with architecture, RTL design, firmware, validation, applications, and product teams throughout the product lifecycle. 

• Participate in technical reviews and project milestones from architecture definition through silicon validation. 

• Drive resolution of complex cross-functional issues impacting schedules, quality, or technical execution. 

Must-Have Skills 

SoC Verification Expertise 

• Extensive experience verifying complex SoCs containing embedded processors, memory hierarchies, interconnects, DMA engines, interrupts, security modules, and communication subsystems. 

• Proven experience delivering successful SoC tapeouts in advanced semiconductor development environments. 

Processor-Based Verification 

• Strong experience verifying microprocessor-based SoCs. 

• Experience with RISC-V processor architectures strongly preferred. 

• Understanding of privilege modes, exception handling, memory protection, caches, debug infrastructure, and firmware interactions. 

SystemVerilog and UVM 

• Expert-level knowledge of SystemVerilog and UVM. 

• Proven experience architecting large-scale reusable verification environments and verification IP. 

• Experience defining organization-wide verification methodologies and verification frameworks. 

DPI and Hardware-Software Co-Verification 

• Strong experience developing and maintaining C/SystemVerilog DPI models and interfaces. 

• Experience integrating reference models, firmware components, transaction-level models, and software test frameworks into verification environments. 

• Understanding of hardware-software co-verification and firmware-driven verification methodologies. 

Debug and Verification Closure 

• Strong debugging skills spanning RTL, subsystem, SoC, and firmware environments. 

• Expertise in functional coverage, assertion-based verification, constrained-random methodologies, and verification sign-off processes. 

• Experience with formal verification and protocol compliance verification. 

Leadership 

• Demonstrated success leading technical teams and delivering complex projects on aggressive schedules. 

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. 

• Ability to influence technical direction across multiple engineering disciplines and geographic locations. 

Preferred Skills 

• Experience with automotive networking technologies and communication protocols. 

• Strong understanding of ISO 26262 functional safety requirements and safety verification methodologies. 

• Experience verifying security architectures, secure communications, and safety-critical systems. 

• Experience with emulation, acceleration, FPGA prototyping, or pre-silicon software development platforms. 

• Knowledge of Python, TCL, and automation frameworks used for verification infrastructure. 

Preferred Education and Experience 

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. 

• Master's degree preferred. 

• 12+ years of digital design verification experience. 

• 5+ years leading verification teams and managing complex development programs. 

• Proven track record delivering processor-based SoCs from architecture through production silicon. 

• Experience leading automotive semiconductor development programs preferred.
