Who You Are:

The Senior E-commerce Photographer is the lead photographer for the Michael Kors in-house e-commerce studio, responsible for establishing and maintaining the photographic standards that define the brand’s global digital product imagery.

This role serves as the primary photographer for on-figure e-commerce photography and provides technical and creative oversight across the studio’s broader photography output. Working closely with Art Direction, Styling, Studio Operations, Production, Digital Capture, and Post-Production, you will translate the Michael Kors visual identity into consistent, elevated imagery produced at scale.

You are an experienced fashion photographer with a refined eye, deep technical expertise, and the operational discipline required to lead a high-volume studio. You understand how to balance creativity, efficiency, product accuracy, and commercial performance without compromising the brand.

What You’ll Do

• Lead On-Figure Photography: Photograph and oversee on-figure e-commerce imagery across Ready-to-Wear, footwear, handbags, and accessories, ensuring consistent lighting, composition, posing, framing, and product representation.
• Set Studio Photography Standards: Develop, document, and maintain lighting guides, framing standards, camera specifications, capture settings, and photography playbooks for all recurring e-commerce image types.
• Provide Creative and Technical Leadership: Direct and mentor the Photographer, Junior Photographer, Digital Technician, and freelance photography support as applicable, ensuring consistent execution across sets and teams.
• Partner with Art Direction and Styling: Collaborate with Art Directors, Stylists, Hair and Makeup teams, Model Casting, and Studio Production to translate seasonal brand direction into repeatable e-commerce photography.
• Manage Daily Set Execution: Lead the photographic workflow on set, maintaining pace, shot-list accuracy, image quality, and alignment with daily production targets.
• Own Capture Quality: Review exposure, focus, lighting consistency, color integrity, crop, product detail, and file organization throughout the shoot, resolving issues before assets move into post-production.
• Support Cross-Category Consistency: Partner with the Still Life Photographer to ensure visual continuity between on-figure and product-only imagery across the Michael Kors digital experience.
• Improve Studio Workflows: Identify opportunities to improve capture efficiency, set transitions, equipment configuration, image review, and communication between Photography, Styling, Production, and Post-Production.
• Oversee Photography Equipment: Maintain photography equipment standards, recommend upgrades, and ensure cameras, lenses, lighting systems, workstations, and capture software remain production-ready.
• Support Special Projects: Photograph or provide photographic direction for seasonal launches, digital exclusives, editorial e-commerce moments, fit imagery, internal tests, and other studio-based brand initiatives.

You’ll Need to Have

• 7+ years of professional fashion, retail, or luxury e-commerce photography experience, including significant on-figure experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading photography within a high-volume studio environment.
• A strong portfolio showing sophisticated on-figure fashion photography, product accuracy, consistent lighting, and a clear understanding of luxury brand presentation.
• Advanced proficiency in Capture One Pro, Adobe Photoshop, professional digital camera systems, and studio lighting systems such as Profoto or Broncolor.
• Deep knowledge of lighting, exposure, color management, lens selection, digital capture, and production workflows.
• Experience creating and maintaining photography standards, lighting diagrams, and technical documentation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Photography, Fine Arts, or a related discipline preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
