Job Summary

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Developer Analyst – Integration Platforms with 8+ years of overall IT experience and strong hands-on expertise in enterprise integration, middleware and API platforms. This is a run-team role that combines end-to-end platform ownership with active participation in platform modernization – including designing, building and migrating interfaces and APIs on SAP Integration Suite, SAP PI/PO, Advanced Event Mesh (AEM/Solace), WSO2 API Manager and Azure API Management.

The successful candidate will ensure platform reliability, security and governance, while also designing and delivering new integrations, APIs and event-driven flows as part of the SAP PI/PO to SAP Integration Suite migration, API modernization and automation roadmap.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Platform Ownership & Reliability

  • Own integration platforms end-to-end – architecture awareness, configuration, reliability, security, lifecycle and roadmap alignment.

  • Monitor platform health, message processing, API traffic, error rates, latency, throughput and connectivity to ensure SLA and availability commitments.

  • Lead incident triage, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, problem management and preventive action closure for production issues.

  • Drive change, release readiness, planned maintenance, upgrades, patching and post-deployment validation with minimal business disruption.

  • Strengthen resiliency through capacity management, performance tuning, disaster recovery testing and operational risk reduction.

  • Participate in on-call rotation for critical production issues and planned maintenance windows.

2. Interface & API Design and Development (Modernization)

  • Design, develop, test and deploy new interfaces, iFlows, APIs and event-driven flows on SAP Integration Suite, WSO2 API Manager, Azure APIM and Advanced Event Mesh.

  • Translate business and functional requirements into integration designs – interface specifications, mapping documents, error handling, retry, security and monitoring patterns.

  • Lead the redesign and migration of SAP PI/PO interfaces to SAP Integration Suite, including re-platforming, re-testing, cutover planning and hypercare.

  • Apply API-first and event-driven design principles – RESTful API design, OpenAPI specifications, versioning, reusable policies, throttling, and publish/subscribe patterns.

  • Contribute to reference architectures, design patterns, reusable templates and integration standards adopted across the team.

  • Participate in design reviews, effort estimation, solution walkthroughs and technical decision-making with architects and application teams.

3. SAP Integration Suite & SAP PI/PO

  • Build and support SAP Integration Suite / SAP CPI iFlows, Cloud Connector, Open Connectors, API Management and related connectivity components.

  • Develop and troubleshoot SAP PI/PO interfaces across IDOC, RFC, BAPI, SOAP, REST, Proxy, File, SFTP, HTTP and OData based integrations.

  • Analyse integration failures, mapping and adapter issues, certificates, authentication, connectivity and performance bottlenecks.

  • Partner with SAP application, Basis, infrastructure, cloud and security teams during design, implementation and incident resolution.

4. API Management & Event-Driven Platforms

  • Own WSO2 API Manager and Azure API Management from a design, configuration, administration and governance perspective.

  • Configure and enhance API gateway policies, throttling, certificates, access control, routing and identity integrations.

  • Design and administer Advanced Event Mesh objects – queues, topics, subscriptions, broker connectivity and messaging flows.

  • Guide application teams through API onboarding, design consultation, operational readiness and production support.

5. Governance, Security & Compliance

  • Manage environment configuration, user access, role management, certificates, keys, tenant settings and platform-level security controls.

  • Support vulnerability remediation, lifecycle management, ITGC/SOX and audit requirements for integration platforms.

  • Ensure new and migrated integrations meet design, security, resiliency, monitoring and supportability standards before go-live.

  • Develop and maintain design documents, SOPs, runbooks, playbooks, knowledge articles and escalation models.

6. Observability, Automation & Continuous Improvement

  • Build and enhance monitoring, logging, alerting and dashboards using SAP monitoring tools, Splunk, Datadog, Elastic, Grafana and Azure Monitor.

  • Use operational data to identify recurring issues, service degradation, capacity trends and modernization opportunities.

  • Drive automation and CI/CD adoption for build, deployment, validation, reporting and repetitive support activities.

  • Apply AI-assisted engineering and operations concepts for log analysis, anomaly detection, alert correlation and productivity gains.

7. Collaboration, Mentoring & Communication

  • Collaborate with application teams, architecture, Basis, CloudOps, ServerOps, security, vendors and business stakeholders.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and lead knowledge sharing across the run team.

  • Communicate designs, issues, risks, status and RCA findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Demonstrate ownership, accountability and a delivery mindset in complex, high-availability enterprise environments.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of overall IT experience in enterprise integration, middleware, API management or integration platform engineering.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing and supporting integration interfaces and APIs in a high-availability enterprise environment.

  • Strong hands-on experience with SAP Integration Suite / SAP CPI and SAP PI/PO, including interface design, development and troubleshooting.

  • Working knowledge of API management and event-driven platforms such as WSO2, Azure APIM and Solace / Advanced Event Mesh.

  • Experience with incident, problem, change and release processes, performance tuning and platform governance.

  • Strong analytical, design, troubleshooting, documentation and stakeholder coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP Integration Suite, SAP PI/PO or SAP Cloud Platform Integration certification.

  • Solace / Advanced Event Mesh, Azure or WSO2 / API Management related certifications.

  • Hands-on experience migrating SAP PI/PO interfaces to SAP Integration Suite or comparable cloud integration platforms.

  • Experience with API modernization, microservices integration, Groovy/Java scripting, XSLT and message mapping.

  • Experience with disaster recovery exercises, resiliency testing and high-availability operations.

  • Exposure to DevOps, SRE, ITIL, Agile, JIRA, Confluence, infrastructure-as-code and automation frameworks.
