Job Description:
The Sr Business Control Specialist will provide analytical and process-execution support to the Global Payments Solutions (GPS) Business Control Office (BCO), supporting client selection, oversight of high-risk clients, control activities and governance routines.

The role will coordinate reviews, evaluate information, maintain documentation and prepare reporting and analytics to support adherence to enterprise standards and effective execution of business controls. Responsibilities will span the High Risk Roundtable (HRRT), broader client-risk governance, Operational Excellence (OpEx) and AI governance activities.

The specialist will work with business and risk and control partners to identify gaps, track actions and improve processes. This is an individual-contributor role with no people-management responsibilities or independent risk-acceptance or approval authority.

Responsibilities

•              Client selection and high-risk client oversight: Support client and activity reviews, including HRRT submissions, by evaluating materials for completeness and consistency, preparing factual summaries and coordinating outstanding information and follow-up requirements

•              Control oversight and execution: Support the monitoring and execution of established controls, evaluate data and supporting evidence, identify potential gaps and track issues and control improvements through resolution

•              Governance routines: Coordinate and execute recurring governance activities, including preparing materials, maintaining review schedules, documenting decisions and tracking approvals, conditions and follow-up actions

•              Process management and quality assurance: Maintain procedures, templates and records; perform quality reviews; and identify recurring gaps and opportunities to strengthen consistency, control effectiveness and execution

•              Reporting and analytics: Prepare management reporting and dashboards, analyze volumes, timeliness, exceptions and trends, and translate findings into actionable information for BCO and business partners

•              Operational Excellence: Support productivity and process-improvement initiatives, including workflow analysis, automation opportunities, implementation tracking and measurement of outcomes

•              AI governance: Support AI governance oversight and execution through review coordination, documentation, action tracking and reporting in accordance with applicable enterprise requirements

•              Stakeholder coordination and escalation: Work across business and control functions to obtain information, resolve process gaps and escalate complex questions or matters outside the role’s authority

•              Exam, audit and review support: Compile and evaluate information for regulatory examinations, internal audits and other monitoring or inspection reviews; coordinate responses and supporting evidence; and track resulting actions

Required Experience:

•              Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience in business controls, risk, compliance, audit, financial-services operations, business support or a related field

•              Experience managing or supporting recurring governance routines, including coordinating materials, tracking deliverables and following up on decisions and actions

•              Experience preparing executive-level presentations and management reporting, translating complex information into clear, concise insights

•              Demonstrated analytical, critical-thinking and problem-solving capabilities, including evaluating information, identifying trends and gaps, and developing practical recommendations

•              Experience collaborating with business, risk and control partners to resolve questions, coordinate deliverables and advance initiatives

•              Experience managing multiple workstreams, competing priorities and deadlines

Preferred Experience

•              Experience supporting client selection, onboarding, due diligence or oversight of high-risk clients

•              Experience supporting control monitoring and execution, quality assurance, issue management or remediation activities

•              Experience supporting process improvement or Operational Excellence initiatives, including workflow analysis, automation and measurement of outcomes

•              Experience supporting AI governance activities, including requirement implementation, review coordination, documentation and action tracking

•              Experience developing dashboards or analytical tools using Power BI, Power Query, SharePoint or similar platforms

•              Experience supporting regulatory examinations, internal audits or other reviews, including coordinating responses, compiling evidence and tracking resulting actions

•              Familiarity with payments products, banking operations or financial-crimes-related processes

Required Skills:

• 3-5 years in business support, business analytics, control function, governance management or related field

•  Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving and attention to detail

•  Clear written and verbal communication, including preparing concise reports and presentation materials

•  Ability to collaborate across teams, coordinate information requests and escalate issues appropriately

•  Strong organization, prioritization and documentation skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines

•  Ability to evaluate data, identify gaps and trends, and present findings clearly

•  Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint

•  Adaptability and ability to learn new processes, tools and enterprise requirements

•  Bachelor's Degree required
