VP – Actuarial Claims Consulting

As a Vice President for the Claims Consulting Practice, you will support the delivery of advanced actuarial and reserving solutions for clients across a range of business needs. This role combines technical actuarial expertise, client service, and project leadership to help clients evaluate liabilities, develop reserving strategies, and make informed business decisions. You will also contribute to the enhancement of tools, methodologies, and processes that support the broader practice.

This role can be based in any of our US Locations where we have a Marsh office. This role will be hybrid with 3 days in the office.   

We can count on you to :

• Analyze financial, statistical, and actuarial data to develop reserving, liability, and cash flow insights that support client and business decision-making
• Perform actuarial calculations to implement or? build complex, bespoke reserving models, and analytics-based tools
• Build complex, bespoke reserving calculation models and other analytics-based tools
• Maintain and develop efficiencies for existing actuarial reserving models
• Investigate complex client issues, develop recommendations on outstanding liabilities, and clearly communicate findings through exhibits, reports, and presentations
• Develop a strong understanding of clients’ businesses, exposures, and needs to provide informed, practical solutions.
• Support the management and execution of several, simultaneous projects, including coordinating workstreams, guiding team deliverables, and reviewing analysts’ work for technical accuracy and quality
• Identify opportunities to support new and existing business, contribute to service offerings expansion, and help strengthen client relationships
• Enhance tools, processes, and methodologies across the practice, including contributing to the use of more advanced reserving approaches 
• Contribute toward the development of administrative structural elements for a new team, such as creating training materials and developing standards of practice

 

What you need to have:

• 5+ years of P&C actuarial experience with a strong reserving background
• ACAS, FCAS preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, actuarial science, or a related field; other academic backgrounds may be considered with relevant experience
• Strong attention to detail and analytical & problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Proven ability to manage several projects simultaneously
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

• Experience with Python, R, VBA, or SQL
• Ability to take initiatives to strive for improvement in analytics techniques, process and output
• Statistics skills, including GLM, Bayesian probability, and other machine-learning techniques such as decision tree / random forest etc.

All Marsh colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $121,900 to $259,700.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
