The Role:

As we scale our transformation agenda, speed of execution has become a competitive lever in its own right. The teams that win are the ones that can go from insight to working tool in weeks, not quarters. We're building that capability directly into the transformation function — a dedicated builder who can turn our sourcing and supply chain problems into deployed data and AI systems, so good ideas convert into operating advantage instead of staying on a whiteboard.

This is not a data-reporting role, and it's not a traditional business-analyst role. This is a builder who also understands the business well enough to know what's worth building, and can defend it in front of leadership.

Your Contribution:

• Build, not just analyze. Design and build data analytics systems, dashboards, and AI-enabled tools/agents that solve real supply chain and operational problems — using modern platforms and AI tooling (LLM-based tools, automation platforms, low-code/no-code + custom scripting as needed) to move quickly on transformation priorities.
• Own edge/new-system builds. Prototype and stand up new systems or workflows at the "edge" of existing infrastructure — solutions built fast, tested against real problems, and refined based on what actually proves valuable.
• Learn the domain fast. Understand supply chain processes deeply enough to spot where data/AI can remove friction. We don't expect a supply chain veteran on day one — we expect someone sharp enough to get there in weeks, not years.
• Do real due diligence on projects. Evaluate proposed transformation initiatives critically — feasibility, data readiness, ROI, risk — and separate what's genuinely valuable from what's just exciting.
• Build sharp business cases. Translate technical possibility into a business case leadership can approve in one meeting: clear problem, clear solution, clear numbers, clear risk.
• Present and influence. Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership. This includes pushing back diplomatically when an idea doesn't hold up.

Your Qualifications and Skills:

Must-Have

• Proven hands-on ability to build things — not just query/report on data. Comfortable with SQL, Python (or similar), and modern AI/LLM tooling for building analytics or automation solutions.
• Track record of taking a project from ambiguous problem statement to working prototype/solution with minimal hand-holding.
• Strong analytical rigor — can evaluate a project's business case and poke holes in weak logic (yours or someone else's).
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; able to present confidently to senior stakeholders.
• High learning agility — genuinely excited to pick up domain knowledge (supply chain) quickly rather than needing it spoon-fed.
• Bias toward action and ownership; comfortable working independently and building end-to-end, since this role carries direct build responsibility rather than routing execution through a separate development team.

Nice-to-Have

• Prior exposure to supply chain, manufacturing, or operations environments.
• Experience with cloud data platforms and/or workflow automation tools.
• Experience building and shipping AI agents/copilots for internal business use cases (not just experimenting with them).

The Kind of Problems You'll Own

We manage production through a network of contract manufacturers and a multi-tier component supply base. Examples of the problem space (not an exhaustive list — we expect you to find more):

• Component risk automation (single-source/EOL flagging, PCN tracking)
• Contract manufacturer risk visibility (financial health, capacity, concentration risk)
• Should-cost modeling for components and assemblies
• Demand–capacity signal matching across CMs
• NPI sourcing readiness tracking
• Alternate/second-source qualification tracking
• Landed cost and tariff exposure modeling
• Supplier and CM performance scorecarding

You won't be handed a finished spec for these — part of the job is scoping which of these (or which adjacent problems) are worth solving first, and making that case.

What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)

• At least one of the sourcing problems above (or a comparable one) taken from a rough idea to a working system in active use.
• The transformation team can point to project decisions ("we killed X, we prioritized Y") backed by this person's due diligence and business case work.
• Leadership trusts this person's judgment on technical feasibility and business impact, and brings them into project reviews as a default, not an exception.
