Commvault Professional Services help our customers to plan, design, implement and maintain world-class information management platforms to simplify and secure their backup and disaster recovery architecture and maximize the value of their data. As the flagship role within the organization, the Solution Architect is expected to deliver a wide range of projects of all sizes and scopes, from small deployments or upgrades to large-scale consulting and design engagements.
Position Responsibilities
- Architecture and design of global deployments for Commvault Software and SaaS
- Design of new solutions and software features to be delivered as a service, new features for existing software
- Engage with customers to develop an understanding of their data and information management environment from a fresh, pragmatic perspective.
- Use proven consultative methods to design, implement and/or remediate solutions relating to Modern Data Protection, Multi-Cloud capability,
- Archive & Compliance, Ransomware/Disaster Recovery, and Operational Improvement.
- Advise customers on Cyber Recovery, create and agree cyber recovery proposals and create and implement solutions to deliver those proposals
- Creation of high and low level design documentation for complex Enterprise Architectures
- Assess customer readiness to determine if all the technical pre-requisites have been met to proceed with the next steps in a project.
- Perform data migration tasks to transition the customer from the previous backup infrastructure to the new infrastructure.
- Troubleshooting complex systems in Dev, Test, and production environments
- Create resolutions and recommendations based on incident investigations to provide greater protection and stability to organizations
- Lead the diagnosis of complex problems with our products and recommend solutions with minimal oversight
- Develop, design and implement software automation in otherwise 100% manual processes.
- Develop excellent working relationship with peers across sites and multiple vendors, ensuring to contribute and adhere to best practices
- Stay up to date on the latest best practices to ensure the smoothest possible project delivery.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline
- Proven experience of hands-on related Software Architecture experience
- Demonstrable experience of designing and/or operating Commvault solutions in the enterprise
- Consulting experience in the backup/recovery and data management industry
- Public Cloud experience (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Experiences with SAN/NAS storage hardware (Pure, Dell/EMC, HDS, NetApp, etc.)
- Proven track record designing data protection or information management solutions
- Networking fundamentals (topologies, firewalls, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with various server platforms (Windows, Linux, etc.), Hypervisors (VMware, Hyper-V, OpenStack), and containers (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker)
- Proficiency with backup and recovery requirements of on-premise applications such as Exchange, SharePoint, MSSQL, and Oracle as well as cloud platforms such as O365, Salesforce, and OneDrive/Google Drive
- Strong experience with DevOps and modern CI/CD approaches.
- Strong experience with performance tools in Microsoft Azure, network monitoring tools, system tools for memory/resource consumption
- Solid understanding of agile development
- Successful and proven experience building, testing, and maintaining complex testing software platform
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to determine the root cause of any issues.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain consistent documentation and configuration. Such tasks will require professional knowledge of software engineering, computer science, and the software industry best practices related to software development.
