We are looking for a hands-on and ownership-driven Software Engineer to build, maintain, and enhance production-grade software applications while working closely with clients and technical leadership.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking ownership of live systems, troubleshooting production issues, managing integrations, developing proofs of concept, and contributing to new software products. This role is suited for an engineer who enjoys solving real-world problems, working directly with stakeholders, and learning new technologies, including AI and emerging software development tools.

Requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Take end-to-end ownership of live web applications, including maintenance, bug fixes, enhancements, testing, and releases.
• Monitor production applications and troubleshoot technical issues to ensure system reliability and availability.
• Analyse application problems, identify root causes, and implement effective and sustainable solutions.
• Meet client stakeholders in person to understand requirements, clarify technical challenges, and agree on practical solutions.
• Translate business and client requirements into clear technical tasks and deliverables.
• Identify technical dependencies, coordinate with relevant stakeholders, and drive tasks through to completion.
• Develop rapid proofs of concept (POCs) to demonstrate technical capabilities and support new business opportunities.
• Contribute to new software projects, products, and digital solutions across enterprise, government, and industry use cases.
• Support the development of AI-enabled software solutions, including applications for the pharmaceutical industry.
• Design, develop, integrate, and maintain APIs and external system integrations.
• Manage and troubleshoot third-party integrations such as SMS gateways, helpdesk platforms, payment services, and other external APIs.
• Participate in application deployments, release management, debugging, and production support.
• Work closely with senior technical leadership and business stakeholders on solution design and implementation.
• Evaluate and adopt new programming languages, frameworks, libraries, and development tools based on project requirements.
• Contribute to technical documentation, code quality, testing, and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT

• 3–5 years of hands-on software development experience.
• Proven experience building and successfully deploying at least one web or mobile application to production.
• Experience supporting and maintaining applications after production launch.
• Strong working knowledge of at least one modern web development stack.
• Good understanding of databases, APIs, backend services, and application deployment.
• Experience taking ownership of a module, integration, feature, or small project end-to-end.
• Hands-on experience integrating and debugging third-party APIs or external services, such as SMS gateways, helpdesk platforms, payment systems, or similar tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills with the ability to work effectively on live production systems.
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with non-technical stakeholders and client teams.
• Experience working directly with clients or business users to gather requirements and explain technical issues.
• Strong ownership mindset with a focus on outcomes rather than simply completing assigned tickets.
• Comfortable working independently, identifying dependencies, and driving tasks to closure.
• Willingness to learn new technologies, programming languages, frameworks, and AI tools as project requirements evolve.
• Interest or experience in AI, Generative AI, automation, or AI-enabled applications will be an advantage.
• Based in Chennai and comfortable travelling within the city for client meetings.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and changing priorities.
