About the Role
Power Factors builds the platform that helps clean energy operators keep wind, solar, and storage assets running at peak performance. We're looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join a team turning millions of daily IoT data points into early warnings, predictive insights, and the tools operators need to act on them — case management, work orders, and analytics that drive real decisions in the field.
You'll work across a modern stack: a TypeScript/React frontend backed by C#/ASP.NET services running on AWS and GCP. Expect a fast-paced, collaborative environment with real ownership over what you build.
What You Will Be Doing
- Design, build, and ship features end-to-end alongside your team, from architecture through production.
- Improve and extend existing services as the platform scales with data volume and customer growth.
- Champion engineering best practices: clean code, testing, and thoughtful CI/CD.
- Participate actively in planning activities.
- Master code review process where you will be receiving annoying comments on your PRs and fixing them, as well as leaving annoying comments on other peoples’ PRs to improve code quality.
- Taking shared ownership and accountability for the team's codebase.
- Keep growing — we invest in engineers who want to deepen their craft.
What You Will Need to Be Successfu
- At least 7 years of C# development experience building back-end services and APIs.
- Proficiency in working with databases (Postges, MySQL, SQL Server) and message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Excellent English skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Positive attitude and ability to foster an enjoyable team environment with a healthy sense of humor.
Preferably:
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools (Github Actions and/or ArgoCD).
- Previous experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Previous experience with DB optimization, partitioning, and indexing in Postgres is highly valued.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT – ENGLISH
Proficiency in English is required to support English‑speaking customers and to collaborate with teams located outside of Québec, as these activities represent a significant portion of the role’s responsibilities
