About Springer Mine  

The Springer site is an underground mining operation located near Imlay, Nevada. As the project advances, effective Site Services support employees, contractors, visitors, and operational teams. The department helps maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment by coordinating the facilities, logistics, and services needed for daily site activities.  

About the Role 

The Site Services Superintendent leads the planning, coordination, and delivery of Site Services at the Springer Site.  This onsite leadership role is responsible for overseeing the employees, contractors, vendors, facilities, logistics, and administrative systems that support daily site operations. 

Working closely with Operations, Human Resources, Health and Safety, Supply Chain, Finance, and other departments, the Superintendent ensures that site services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with operational requirements. The role also manages departmental resources and budgets, addresses service-related issues, and identifies opportunities to improve the overall onsite experience. 

Key Responsibilities 

Leadership & Team Management 

• Lead, supervise, and support Site Services employees by establishing priorities, assigning work, and ensuring appropriate departmental coverage. 

• Provide coaching, feedback, and performance guidance while promoting accountability, collaboration, and high service standards. 

• Plan staffing and resource requirements in response to changing operational needs. 

Site Services Operations 

• Oversee the day-to-day delivery of Site Services, including accommodations, transportation, site access, visitor logistics, facilities, housekeeping, catering, office services, and related site support. 

• Ensure Site Services requests and operational issues are addressed promptly and effectively. 

• Coordinate support for workforce mobilizations, onboarding activities, shutdowns, employee events, and special projects. 

Health, Safety & Compliance 

• Ensure all Site Services activities are performed in accordance with company health, safety, environmental, and operational requirements. 

• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure employees, contractors, and vendors understand and follow site safety standards. 

• Participate in safety meetings, inspections, incident reviews, and corrective-action initiatives as required. 

Financial & Vendor Management 

• Develop and manage the Site Services budget, monitor expenditures, and forecast future resource and service requirements. 

• Oversee departmental purchasing, inventory, invoice verification, and related procurement activities. 

• Manage contractors, vendors, and service providers by monitoring performance, addressing service concerns, and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements. 

Stakeholder Coordination 

• Work closely with Operations, Human Resources, Health and Safety, Supply Chain, Finance, and other departments to anticipate and respond to site requirements. 

• Serve as the primary point of escalation for significant Site Services issues and coordinate timely resolutions. 

• Maintain productive relationships with employees, contractors, vendors, visitors, and other internal and external stakeholders. 

Continuous Improvement & Site Support 

• Develop, implement, and maintain Site Services procedures, schedules, records, and reporting systems. 

• Monitor service delivery and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, cost control, and the onsite employee experience. 

• Support site planning and growth initiatives by assessing future facility, transportation, accommodation, and service requirements. 

Qualifications & Experience 

• Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, Facilities Management, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred. 

• A combination of relevant education and equivalent practical experience may be considered. 

• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in site services, facilities, logistics, administration, hospitality, or operational support. 

• Minimum of 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience. 

• Experience supporting mining, construction, industrial, or remote-site operations is strongly preferred. 

• Experience managing contractors, vendors, service agreements, procurement activities, and departmental budgets. 

• Experience coordinating facilities, transportation, accommodations, or other workforce support services. 

• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet all site access requirements. 

Skills & Competencies 

• Strong leadership, team-management, and decision-making abilities. 

• Excellent organizational and operational planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities. 

• Strong financial awareness, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and invoice review. 

• Effective communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and relationship-management skills. 

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with ERP, procurement, scheduling, or facilities-management systems is an asset.

Working Conditions 

• Must be able to traverse work site(s) to complete a combination of office and field activities. 

• Frequent interaction with employees, contractors, vendors, visitors, and site leadership. 

• May require extended or rotational work schedules based on operational needs. 

• May require availability outside regular working hours to respond to urgent Site Services matters. 

• The position may involve exposure to outdoor conditions, active operational areas, uneven ground, dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.
