About This Role:

Join Crusoe as a Shop Foreman and play an essential leadership role in scaling our world-class manufacturing operations. In this full-time role, you will direct and coordinate the daily floor activities of production leads and assembly technicians across 5 active assembly lines, overseeing the end-to-end manufacturing process of our modular data centers (MDCs) and power distribution centers (PDCs). You will maintain operational rigor across the plant, ensuring that all production execution strictly abides by company policies and OSHA safety regulations.

The ideal candidate is an authentic, people-first shop-floor leader who balances deep technical aptitude with strong operational discipline. You thrive on fostering a respectful, positive, and collaborative working environment—developing lasting relationships, mentoring technicians, driving Lean workflows, and maintaining rigorous standards of craft, quality, and delivery pacing to power the future of sustainable computing.

What You’ll Be Working On:

  • Operational & Floor Leadership: Provide overall operational leadership for assigned lines and projects, consistently achieving target performance metrics across safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.

  • Lean Manufacturing Application: Champion the practical application of Lean Manufacturing tools and concepts—including 5S, Gemba walks, Kaizen events, line balancing, and visual management—to achieve measurable and sustainable workflow improvements on the floor.

  • Strategy & Schedule Execution: Formulate and execute daily project strategies, production schedules, and technician resource plans strictly aligned with budgeted production bid hours.

  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Directly lead, mentor, and upskill production leads and technicians to build an engaged, accountable, and high-performing manufacturing workforce.

  • Operational Metrics & Reporting: Continuously monitor and report on key operational inputs and KPIs, including safety incident rates, first-pass yield, schedule adherence, labor efficiency, and scrap/rework costs.

  • Workforce Management & Retention: Oversee assigned manufacturing personnel, driving clear accountability, technician engagement, skills matrix progression, and workforce retention.

  • Safety & Culture of Excellence: Champion an active safety culture, enforcing strict compliance, continuous hazard identification, and operational excellence aligned with Crusoe Mission Critical values.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Project Management to eliminate bottlenecks and ensure seamless project execution.

  • Stakeholder & Vendor Relationships: Cultivate productive, professional working relationships with internal departments, external suppliers, and equipment vendors to resolve production constraints rapidly.

  • Project Accountability: Maintain end-to-end accountability for all aspects of an assigned project, including tooling, fixtures, standard operating procedures, and assembly execution strategies.

  • Manufacturing Tactical Input: Coordinate regularly with manufacturing management to provide ground-level tactical and strategic input on process feasibility, capacity, and schedule optimization.

  • Estimating & DFM Reviews: Participate actively in project production hour estimating, Design for Manufacturability (DFM) evaluations, and risk assessments for new project pursuits.

  • Process & Safety Development: Develop, roll out, and maintain standard manufacturing work instructions, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), safety procedures, and technician skill assessments.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Education: High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent vocational training credential required.

  • Experience & Crew Leadership: 5+ years of progressive manufacturing, industrial fabrication, or electro-mechanical assembly experience, including demonstrated success directly supervising, scheduling, and guiding production leads and technician crews.

  • Electro-Mechanical Domain: Skilled specialist background in electrical and mechanical designs, with hands-on understanding of power distribution assemblies, control wiring, and structural equipment integration.

  • Process & Procedure Development: Proven track record contributing to the development, refinement, and implementation of manufacturing concepts, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and floor assembly techniques.

  • Task & Schedule Coordination: Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex tasks under established procedures, balance multi-line workloads, and maintain strict adherence to operational schedules and bid hours.

  • Problem Solving & Initiative: Strong practical judgment and proactive initiative in troubleshooting assembly defects, eliminating line stoppages, and recommending engineering adjustments.

  • Cross-Functional Teamwork: Track record of collaborating effectively within a team environment under the general guidance of manufacturing leadership.

  • Safety and Compliance: This position is designated as a safety-sensitive position located in a safety-sensitive facility. Drug and alcohol program participation is required, and candidates must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.

  • Physical & Operational Requirements: Ability to navigate an industrial manufacturing shop floor, stand and walk for extended periods, and lift or move equipment up to 50 lbs.

Bonus Points:

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.

  • Direct experience manufacturing Modular Data Centers (MDCs), Power Distribution Centers (PDCs), switchgear, or industrial e-houses.

  • Advanced blueprint and schematic literacy across electrical one-lines, control wiring diagrams, and mechanical fabrication drawings.
