We are seeking an experienced, talented and dependable individual who shares our values to join our team as Shipping Clerk. This position plays an important role in providing quality service to customers and Shipping Lines, thus ensuring the effective operations of the Shipping Department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the clearance of cargo: notifying consignees, registering manifests and preparing cargo releases.
• Respond to customer queries, including supplying freight rates to customers.
• Review and authorize vessel accounts and disbursements.
• Receive payment and document all receipt of funds for freight and other charges.
• Prepare claims and relevant documents for Insurance purposes.
• Attend to outgoing or incoming correspondence and maintains department records and inventory                                  

Qualifications & Experience:

• Four CXC subjects including Mathematics and English Language. 
• Minimum of one (1) years’ experience working in a computerized customer facing role. Shipping experience in a similar position would be an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
• Computer literate and proficient in MS Office.
• Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in orders, shipments, or documentation.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple shipments efficiently.
• The ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
