Job Description Summary
The Service Director for Southern and Eastern Africa, Nigeria, and Chad (SAENC) reports directly to the Services Inquiry-to-Remittance (ITR) Leader. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the strategic leader for the Gas Power Services execution business, responsible for defining and driving the regional strategy across our covered region.You will lead a high-performing team of Contract Performance Managers to deliver both short and medium-term objectives, ensuring excellence in the execution of Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSA/MMP) and transactional contracts for customer excellence. As the leadership interface between internal engineering, fulfillment, and commercial functions, you will orchestrate cross-functional collaboration to optimize plant reliability and fleet flexibility, positioning the organization for sustainable growth.
By leveraging Lean methodology and deep technical expertise, you will cultivate high-impact, long-term partnerships with key customer stakeholders to ensure GE Vernova remains the provider of choice. The ideal candidate will combine rigorous financial and operational oversight—specifically focused on revenue, operating margin, and cash collection— with a dedicated passion for talent development. You will be tasked with building a robust execution team while maintaining the highest global standards of safety, quality, and compliance in every market within the SAENC region.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Execution: Lead Contract Performance Managers (CPMs) and Contract Service Leaders (CSLs) in delivering against quarterly business plans, strategic blueprints and customer satisfaction.
- Operational Excellence: Partner with fulfilment and cross-functional teams to optimize delivery, streamline processes, and elevate customer experience.
- Talent Leadership: Mentor and develop the CSL/CPM/CFM team; drive the full talent lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning where required.
- Technical Optimization: Collaborate with engineering and technology teams to enhance plant flexibility and reliability through standardized, portfolio-wide best practices.
- Commercial Growth: Collaborate with Account Managers to develop and execute growth strategies that effectively position our portfolio against market competition.
- Customer Stewardship: Build high-impact relationships with customer leadership, facilitating effective communications and technical knowledge-sharing forums.
- Integrated Delivery: Drive the seamless integration of onshore and offshore resources to simplify customer interfaces and accelerate service delivery.
- Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to GE Vernova processes and policies broadly categorized under the SQDCC framework.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering; an MBA or equivalent advanced management qualification is a distinct advantage.
- Minimum of 8 years relevant experience within the energy sector, specifically within the SAENC market.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of simple and combined cycle power plant operations, with specific expertise in GE Vernova B-Class (6B) and E-Class (9E/GT13E2) gas turbine technologies.
- Strong background in a service-oriented business model.
- Proven ability to drive accountability and deliver results in a cross-functional, matrixed organizational structure.
