Hi! 👋 I'm Sandrina, and I lead the Websites Program at WeTravel.

I'm hiring an SEO/AEO specialist who helps us build websites that get found in search engines and in AI answers.

Multi-day travel businesses (think a 7-day safari in the Serengeti or a 5-day scuba diving trip in the Galápagos) sell over $300B of travel annually around the world. Ten thousand of those businesses, worth $3B in travel sales, use WeTravel as their end-to-end operating system. They use WeTravel to manage sales processes, collect payments, and run their back offices and website. WeTravel is their eCommerce stack, with checkout at the center of it.

WeTravel has 400+ team members representing 88 countries. We have offices in Amsterdam, Chicago, Sydney, and Baku, and many team members work remotely around the world. Financially, we're secure and growing fast, with 60 to 100 percent year-over-year growth depending on the metric.

SEO and AEO at WeTravel

Our clients choose custom-made WeTravel websites because they're integrated with our booking platform, have modern layouts that convert bookings, and are SEO and AEO optimized.

As an SEO/AEO specialist, you'll be part of a growing websites team and help build websites that are set up around tourism-market SEO/AEO best practices.

For many of our clients, it's crucial to rank high in search engines and to be found by the LLMs that are increasingly used across the industry. You know what works today, but you also stay ahead of the trends and GEO/AEO innovations shaping tourism search. You'll be part of a very motivated team, and you'll enjoy educating both the team and our clients so they're set up for success once their websites launch.

Our company goal is to help multi-day travel companies run more of their business on WeTravel. This lines up with our own revenue strategy — we make money when our clients make money. This all starts with our clients attracting the right (online) leads that convert.

In This Role

• You will own the technical SEO/AEO optimization of the custom travel websites that we build. You'll help the Web Specialist identify which pages should be built, make sure all the required technical SEO practices (structured data and schema markup, crawlability for AI bots, page speed, and similar) are in place during the build, and do a final check before launch to make sure the site is ready to go live.

• You will support the Websites Team with a final Quality Assurance check to prepare a website for launch.

• You will guide clients through post-launch handoffs and empower them to manage their own websites, SEO, and AEO long-term.

• You will create client-facing documentation for our knowledge center to answer common SEO/AEO-related questions and highlight the SEO/AEO benefits of WeTravel websites

• You'll do keyword research and give copywriting advice.

• You'll keep an eye on how our sites show up in AI answers (Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and similar), and use that to keep improving how we build.

• You’ll report directly to me and collaborate daily with our other SEO specialists and Web Specialists. Occasionally you will answer questions from Account Managers or Customer Support representatives.

An Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a highly organized SEO specialist with sharp product sense and great communication skills. If you love travel and tech, and you want adventure and dynamism in your work, you will thrive in our scale-up environment (not a big company, but not a small startup either).

Hard requirements:

• Has 5 years of SEO/AEO professional experience.

• Has 3+ years of experience using tools like Screaming Frog, SEMRUSH, Google Search Console, and Google Analytics.

• Is comfortable with structured data and schema markup (FAQ, LocalBusiness, Event, and similar schema types)

• Has experience with CMS, preferably knowledge on Duda.

• Writes fluent business English that a busy tour operator would want to read and understand easily.

• Is excellent in communicating and helping clients to set up for success.

• Is excellent in communicating with the Website Specialists (mainly designers) on how to implement SEO and AEO best practices.

• Uses AI tools to work faster and more reliably, while owning the quality of everything that ships.

Nice to have:

• Knows how to launch websites and make DNS/domain record changes.

• Has experience working with clients in the travel industry.

• Has some exposure to AI-visibility or citation-tracking tools (tools that monitor how a brand shows up in ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google AI Overviews).This space is new and moving fast, so we don't expect mastery, just curiosity.

• Writes fluent business Spanish.

This role is not a good fit for someone who:

• Sticks to outdated SEO practices and is not up to date on the AEO/GEO market (we need someone who knows what actually works, today)

• Wants to focus only on SEO or AEO maintenance. We build the sites and set the client up for success — we don't run ongoing SEO retainers.

• Wants a to-do list. You will proactively pick up the projects that are available in the pipeline.

• Doesn’t enjoy working in a fast paced and changing environment.
