Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead the architecture, design, and development of scalable software platforms and solutions. This is a hands-on technical leadership role for an engineer who combines strong software engineering fundamentals with deep system design and architectural thinking.

You will work across engineering, product, and architecture teams to solve complex technical problems, influence technology direction, and drive solutions from concept to implementation. The role also provides an opportunity to leverage cloud, AI/GenAI, and emerging technologies to accelerate engineering, explore new approaches, and solve problems beyond your core area of expertise.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and design of complex software systems, platforms, services, and APIs.
• Drive end-to-end technical ownership for significant platforms or technology areas.
• Design scalable, reliable, secure, and high-performing solutions while evaluating key architectural trade-offs.
• Develop high-quality Java-based applications, services, APIs, and platform components.
• Work closely with Product, Engineering, Architecture, and cross-functional teams to influence requirements and technical direction.
• Evaluate cloud-native, open-source, and emerging technologies and make pragmatic build-vs-buy and technology decisions.
• Leverage AI/GenAI and AI-assisted engineering tools for research, problem solving, software development, and prototyping.
• Solve complex and ambiguous problems, including areas outside your immediate domain, and quickly develop practical technical solutions.
• Create technical proposals, prototypes, and proof-of-concepts to validate ideas and influence architectural decisions.

Requirements / Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and solid software engineering fundamentals.
• Strong experience in system design, software architecture, and distributed systems.
• Experience designing and building scalable software platforms, services, and APIs.
• Strong understanding of cloud technologies and cloud-native architecture.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work through complex and ambiguous problems.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and work effectively across technology domains.
• Strong technical communication and ability to influence technical decisions across teams.

Good to Have

• Practical experience with AI/GenAI or AI-assisted software engineering.
• Experience with LLM-based applications, RAG, agentic workflows, MCP, or similar emerging AI technologies.
• Experience building prototypes or proof-of-concepts using emerging technologies.
• Experience contributing to open-source projects or driving technology innovation.
