What you’ll do
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Capture team, you will design, build, and operate the distributed services that form Pindrop's real-time ingestion layer. You will engineer systems that acquire, normalize, and deliver real-time and recorded audio, video, and telephony metadata across provider platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Google Meet, Amazon Connect, Genesys) into Pindrop’s downstream analytics, fraud detection, and authentication engines.This is a product-engineering role focused on real-time media ingestion, low-latency streaming pipelines, provider integrations, and production reliability. It is not an ML model-development or model-scoring role.
More specifically, you will:
- Design, build, test, deploy, and operate distributed Go microservices and media pipelines optimized for low-latency processing, high availability, and fault tolerance.
- Build and evolve integrations across communication technologies and protocols, including SIPREC, RTP, WebRTC, WebSockets, and enterprise contact center platforms.
- Lead projects from architecture and technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, documentation, and production support.
- Diagnose complex distributed systems issues using logs, metrics, traces, and system tests; improve service reliability, capacity, and security.
- Provide technical guidance through design reviews, code reviews, architecture decisions, and mentoring junior engineers.
- Partner closely with Product, System Test, Infrastructure, SRE, and adjacent analytics teams to deliver seamless data ingestion.
- Participate in a shared on-call rotation after completing team training and production-readiness onboarding.

Your skill-set
Must Have
- 5+ years of professional software development experience building and operating distributed backend services in production.
- Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) or a comparable compiled language, with strong Linux/Unix, networking, concurrency, and performance tuning fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS/GCP), containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and DevOps practices (Terraform/CDK, CI/CD pipelines).
- Proven track record of diagnosing and resolving complex issues in distributed systems, including participation in on-call production support.
Nice to Have
- Experience with real-time communication protocols and streaming frameworks (SIPREC, VoIP, SIP, RTP, WebRTC, WebSockets, FFmpeg, GStreamer).
- Experience integrating with telephony, contact-center, CPaaS, or meeting platforms (Amazon Connect, Genesys, Zoom, Teams, Webex).
- Experience with event-driven messaging systems (Apache Kafka/MSK), distributed caching, or service-to-service API design (REST/gRPC).
- Familiarity with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) and security best practices in compliance-sensitive cloud environments.
