Liquid Personnel is recruiting Senior Social Worker for its client's Fostering Team at Gateshead.
Our client, Gateshead Council, is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Fostering Team. The team works collaboratively with foster carers, children, families, and partner agencies to provide safe, stable, and nurturing environments where children can thrive.
As a Senior Social Worker within the Fostering Team, you will play a key role in supporting and supervising foster carers, undertaking fostering assessments, and contributing to the ongoing development of the fostering service. You will also act as a source of expertise within the team, providing guidance and support to colleagues while ensuring the highest standards of social work practice are maintained.
What will your responsibilities be?
- Deliver a high-quality fostering service in line with statutory requirements, fostering regulations, and Gateshead Council policies and procedures.
- Undertake assessments of prospective foster carers and present reports to fostering panels.
- Provide ongoing supervision, support, and guidance to approved foster carers.
- Ensure foster placements are appropriately supported to promote stability and positive outcomes for children and young people.
- Work collaboratively with children, families, carers, and multi-agency professionals to develop and implement effective care plans.
- Support less experienced social workers within the team through mentoring and sharing best practice.
- Maintain accurate and timely case recordings, assessments, and reports.
- Participate in regular supervision and contribute to service development initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:
To be successful in this role you must have,
- Social Work England registration.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in Social Work.
- Significant post-qualified experience within Children's Services.
- Experience working within fostering services.
- Strong assessment, analytical, and relationship-building skills.
