About the job
  
Goods & Services is looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer with solid hands-on experience in test automation, particularly with Appium and Playwright. The ideal candidate will focus primarily on designing, developing, and maintaining automated tests for mobile and web applications, while also contributing to manual and exploratory testing when needed. This role requires a solid technical foundation in automation, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to identify quality risks and improve testing processes. We are looking for a self-driven professional who is eager to learn, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and explore how AI-powered tools can improve QA efficiency and effectiveness.

What you’ll do 

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test suites for web and mobile applications, prioritizing reliability, reusability, maintainability, and test coverage.
• Develop and maintain mobile test automation using Appium, covering critical user journeys, functional scenarios, regression testing, and device-specific behaviors.
• Design, implement, and maintain web test automation using Playwright, validating application functionality, user workflows, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Create and execute manual and exploratory test cases when necessary, covering functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end scenarios.
• Identify opportunities to expand automation coverage, reduce repetitive manual testing, and improve the efficiency of the overall QA process.
• Analyze automated test failures, investigate defects, review logs, and perform root cause analysis to distinguish application issues from automation or environment-related failures.
• Identify edge cases, quality risks, and gaps in test coverage, recommending improvements to strengthen product reliability.
• Collaborate with developers, product teams, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements, investigate defects, communicate test results, and drive issues through resolution.
• Support API testing and validation, including response verification, data integrity, authentication, error handling, and negative scenarios.
• Use AI-powered tools and techniques to support test case generation, test automation development, code review, debugging, and testing optimization.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to automation standards, testing strategies, and best practices.
• Maintain clear documentation of test cases, automation scripts, defects, execution results, and identified quality risks.
• Independently learn and apply new testing tools, frameworks, and technologies to improve automation capabilities and overall product quality.
•  Apply AI-powered tools and techniques to support QA activities, such as test case generation, test documentation, test/code review, and testing optimization.

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Relevant hands-on experience in QA engineering and software testing, with a strong focus on test automation.
• Solid hands-on experience with Appium for mobile test automation.
• Solid hands-on experience with Playwright for web application test automation.
• Experience designing, developing, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Understanding of software testing principles, including functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience with manual and exploratory testing to validate application behavior and investigate issues that cannot be fully covered through automation.
• Ability to analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, identify root causes, and document defects clearly.
• Familiarity with API testing concepts and the ability to validate API responses, data integrity, and error handling.
• Basic understanding of version control systems, preferably Git, and experience working within an Agile development environment.
• Solid analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• A self-driven, resourceful, and continuous-learning mindset, with the ability to adapt to new tools and technologies.
• Experience on AI tools and technologies can support QA and software testing.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with Linux environments, including basic commands, log review, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Selenium WebDriver and Java.
• Experience with REST Assured or other API automation tools.
• Experience with performance and load testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.
• Familiarity with other web automation frameworks, such as Cypress.
• Experience using AI-assisted development and testing tools, such as Cursor, for test generation, code assistance, debugging, or automation optimization.
• Familiarity with JavaScript or TypeScript for test automation.
• Exposure to .NET applications or frameworks..
