UnspecifiedWe are seeking a results-driven individual to join our team to support a major capability development program for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). This program will equip the CAF with cutting-edge technology that can counter a wide range of modern threats across diverse operational environments.
As our Senior Project Manager, you’ll be at the helm of a program that introduces a fully integrated system for rapid detection, tracking, and response - safeguarding personnel, critical infrastructure, and mission-essential resources. This is your chance to lead from the front, drive innovation, and play a pivotal role in a program that protects those who protect us.
This role will take full ownership of the program’s success, starting with end-to-end project management, including planning, execution, growth initiatives, risk management, customer engagement, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, drive results, and foster strong relationships with internal teams, customers and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Manage assigned projects in alignment with the principles outlined in the Program Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) framework to ensure successful delivery of project goals.
- Develop, maintain, and track project schedules to meet milestones and deadlines.
- Review and approve project-related data reports, including budgets, financial performance, and monitoring matrixes. Maintain accountability for accurate and timely reporting.
- Ensure all project team members adhere to company Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies. Provide training, supervision, and resources to promote a safe work environment.
- Liaison with customers, ensuring seamless execution of projects through the implementation of Customer Focused Marketing with the end user. Support technical investigations, integration development, and program review meetings in alignment with customer-focused strategies.
- Travel domestically and internationally to support ongoing projects and drive new business development opportunities.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities to expand existing projects and secure additional business through proactive business development efforts.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk register, implement risk reduction strategies, and proactively address potential challenges.
- Act on behalf of the Program Manager ensuring uninterrupted leadership and support in their absence.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support the success of the team and organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of 8 years in project administration, operations support, supervisory roles, or project leadership.
- Proven experience in a project leadership role within a highly technical or engineering-focused environment.
- PMP certification or progress toward certification is required.
- Strong knowledge of project scheduling tools; proficiency in Microsoft Project is preferred.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, with proven experience in developing reports, presentations, and customer correspondence.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams.
- Bilingual (French-English) skills is an asset.
This position is eligible for consideration of a hybrid work arrangement with set days onsite in our Calgary office.
The successful candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check and obtain/maintain a Government of Canada security clearance and any applicable clearances with respect to the handling and transfer of controlled goods.
