We are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager to be based out of the Dallas, TX area. This position is responsible for the overall coordination and supervision of the project team, appropriate communications with the client, management and control of scope, cost, and schedule objectives for the project as a whole. This client-facing role offers the opportunity to help deliver complex, high-profile construction projects within the institutional sector, with an emphasis on religious facilities and houses of worship. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Communication:

  • Stakeholder Communication: Oversee and support the project team's regular communication with stakeholders, providing updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor project teams, contractors, and vendors, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborative approach to work effectively with cross-functional teams, contractors, and vendors.
  • Contractor Relations: Oversee and support the project team's communication with vendors, suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors to coordinate orders and deliveries.

Scope:

  • Leadership: Provide strong leadership and strategic direction to project teams, contractors, and stakeholders, fostering collaboration and ensuring project objectives are met.
  • Project Planning: Oversee and support the project teams with comprehensive project plans through construction, and post-construction, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with project goals and stakeholder requirements.
  • Site Management: Oversee and support the project teams with site logistics, including layout, access, and coordination of contractors and suppliers.
  • Progress Tracking: Oversee and support the project teams with project milestones, tasks, and deliverables, addressing any deviations and ensuring project timelines are met.
  • Resource Allocation: Oversee and support the project teams with allocating and managing resources effectively, including labor, equipment, and materials, to meet project objectives.
  • Issue Resolution: Oversee and support the project teams with project-related challenges promptly, collaborating with stakeholders to find solutions.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Oversee and support the project teams with the project's adherence to all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Risk Management: Oversee and support the project teams with potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring smooth project progress.
  • Issue Resolution: Oversee and support the project teams with project-related issues and challenges promptly, seeking guidance from project management as needed.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing project needs, handle unexpected challenges, and adjust project plans accordingly.
  • Quality Control: Oversee and support the project teams with project quality and ensure compliance with industry standards and stakeholder specifications.
  • Environmental Considerations: Oversee and support the project teams with awareness of environmental regulations and sustainable construction practices.
  • Budget Oversight: Oversee and support the project teams with project costs, expenses, change orders, and allowances, adjusting to stay within budget limits.
  • Documentation: Oversee and support the project teams with the reviewing, expediting, and monitoring of documents (reports, schedules, invoices, ASIs, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes/agendas, daily reports, change orders, punch lists, inspections, closeout, and stakeholder presentations).
  • Reporting: Oversee and support the project teams with project status reports, updates, and presentations for management and stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices, lessons learned, and process enhancements to drive continuous improvement across projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Attendance at work during normal business hours.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

Knowledge:

  • Construction Processes: In-depth understanding of construction methodologies, processes, and best practices.
  • Project Management: In-depth understanding of project management principles, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Blueprint Reading: In-depth understanding in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Building Codes and Regulations: In-depth understanding of local, state, and national building codes, permits, and regulations that govern construction projects.
  • Safety Procedures: In-depth understanding of safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), hazard identification, and adherence to safety guidelines.
  • Construction Safety: In-depth understanding of potential construction site hazards, including electrical, fall, and equipment-related risks.
  • Collaboration: Strong team collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Project Documentation: In-depth understanding of maintaining accurate project documentation, contracts, drawings, schedules, and change orders.
  • Project Management Software: In-depth understanding of project management software and tools for scheduling, task management, and communication.

  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills to motivate and manage project teams, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Problem Solving: Effective problem-solving skills to address issues as they arise and make decisions to keep projects on track.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage project documentation, deadlines, tasks, and priorities effectively.
  • Decision Making: Strong ability to make informed decisions quickly, considering project goals, budget, and timeline.
  • Time Management: Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to accurately maintain project records, monitor progress, and review documents.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to analyze project data, identify trends, and inform decision-making.
  • Technical Proficiency: In-depth understanding in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, and Project Management Software.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Education: BS in Construction Management, Engineering, QS, Architecture, or related field
Experience: 10+ years of experience in Project Management, engineering, or construction management
Previous experience delivering large-scale construction projects within the institutional sector, specifically religious facilities and houses of worship, is strongly preferred.
Preferred Certification: CCM, PMP, PE, AIA, LEED
