Sobre este puesto de Senior Product Designer, OpsUnity <Freelance> en CookUnity
About CookUnity:
Food has lost its soul to modern convenience. And with it, it has lost the power to nourish, inspire, and connect us. So in 2018, CookUnity was founded as the first-of-its-kind platform that connects the world with the source of truly great food: chefs. Today, CookUnity delivers 50 million meals a year from the industry’s best chefs to homes all over the country. Fresh. Ready-to-eat. And crafted with the passion that nourishes body and soul.
Unwilling to stop there, CookUnity is expanding beyond delivery to become an ever-innovating marketplace focused on our singular mission: empower Chefs to nourish the world.
If that mission has you hungry in more ways than one, you’ve found the right job posting.
The Role
As a Freelance Senior Product Designer, OpsUnity, you'll own the design of the platform that runs CookUnity's operations. OpsUnity is our operating system for defining and planning operations, measuring execution, and driving accountability, all in one consolidated platform. It's a growing ecosystem of products (Designer, Planner, Labor and Task Trackers, and more) built by multiple teams, and it needs a consistent design point of view as it scales.
This is a hands-on role where your work is used daily by operators on the kitchen and fulfillment floor. These are high-stakes, high-tempo environments: shift leaders, pickers, and planners need to act quickly and without error, then get back to the floor. Good UX here isn't polish, it's whether the tool gets adopted and whether people make mistakes using it.
You'll partner across engineering, product, operations leadership, and the individual teams building on the platform, bringing cohesion to how OpsUnity looks, behaves, and feels, while the platform is still early enough to shape.
Responsibilities
- Design across the OpsUnity platform: Work across multiple products and teams (planning tools, real-time trackers, operational dashboards), bringing a consistent, coherent design language to a platform built by many hands.
- Design for the floor: Create interfaces for fast-moving operational environments where speed and error prevention are critical. Understand how shift leaders, pickers, and planners actually work, and design tools they'll adopt rather than resist.
- Handle complex operational UX: Translate dense, data-heavy workflows (resource planning, capacity and bottleneck visualization, labor and task tracking) into interfaces that are legible under pressure.
- Establish cohesion early: Help define shared patterns, components, and standards so products built by different teams feel like one platform.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with engineering, product, and operations teams, from understanding on-the-ground needs to shaping briefs and aligning on solutions.
- Ground design in real use: Use operational context, user observation, and platform data to inform decisions and validate that designs work in production.
- Leverage AI to scale design: Use AI-assisted workflows, from rapid prototyping to generating and testing variants, to move faster and cover more surface area across the platform.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in UX/UI or product design, with a focus on complex, data-heavy, or workflow-driven products.
- Proven track record designing tools for operational, enterprise, or internal-platform contexts (B2B, logistics, supply chain, ops tooling, or similar preferred).
- Strong information architecture and interaction design skills, especially for dense workflows where clarity and error prevention matter.
- Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Figma) and AI-assisted workflows (e.g., generative prototyping, Claude, v0).
- Comfortable working across multiple teams and products simultaneously, bringing cohesion without owning every decision.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with operators and technical teams to understand real needs.
- Experience designing for mobile/tablet use in physical work environments is a plus.
- Familiarity with front-end development practices (HTML/CSS/JavaScript) is a plus.
